Landmarc Film’s Sanngto Aika…!, a black comedy with the theme that a hero resides in each one of us…all we need is to find him!, has been selected for the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke film festival.
“I had the privilege of working with such stalwarts in my very first Marathi feature as producer, it was both easy and challenging, which made the entire journey worthwhile. I’m delighted that it has been officially selected in the Dadasaheb Phalke Film Festival,” said producer Vidhi Kasliwal.
“It is an honour to be officially selected at Dadasaheb Phalke film festival, ‘Sanngto Aika' is Landmarc Films and Vidhi Kasliwal’s maiden Marathi venture and I am happy we made a film we all as a team are proud of…!!!,” added director Satish Rajwade.
“It was a pleasure doing yet another variety of role, which has never been offered to me earlier. Thanks to Landmarc Films, Vidhi Kasliwal and Satish Rajwade who believed in me for this special role. The entire film was on the shoulder of Ambatrao. It was indeed a great challenge to essay this character, hope I’ve done justice to it. I’m happy to receive this news that our film ‘Sanngto Aika’ has been officially selected at the Dadasaheb Phalke Film Festival. Hope the audience likes and appreciates this effort of ours. Best wishes to Landmarc Films,” said Sachin Pilgaonkar.
Set in Kambalwadi – a small village in the heart of Maharashtra, the story revolves around a drunkard stand-up comedian Ambatrao Gholap (Sachin Pilgaonkar) who finds himself all alone at the crossroads of life when he is entangled by political stooges to take the fall for a crime he has not committed. His loving wife Mohini (Sanskruti Balgude) and doting 6-year old son Kisna (Shubham Parab) feel let down by him, this incites the drunkard to use his presence of mind and sheer wit to try and emerge a hero in their eyes.
