Veteran star Parikshit Sahni who also plays a pivotal role in the film Chal Akela Re, gave the mahurat clap of the film at Filmistan Studios in suburban Mumbai.
Chal Akela Re, a line inspired by Rabindranath Tagore’s famous poem is a film which is said to be a unique movie in the words of the director Sameer Dev Kar.
The other starcast of the film including Australian import Raj Thakur, Kishore Kumar’s niece Sayantani Guhathakurta, Ragini Nandwani, Yuvraj Singh and Shyam Bansal were also present at the mahurat.
“It is a film that has a unique story that must be told. The like Chal Akela Re is inspired by Rabindranath Tagore’s poem and is a story that must be told to the generation of India today. The film has every shade of romance and thrill that must be told for the audience today,” says Kar about his film.
The actors have a strong belief in the maker and echo his sentiments, “The film has multiple shades. We are excited to be a part of a movie that tells a story that every Indian wants to know,” chorus the actors, including Australian actor Raj Thakur who has acted in a few films down under before doing theatre in India and Bengali starlet Sayantani who is also the face that launched several products in Kolkata.
As for Ragini Nandwani who plays a doctor in this film, she played the lead opposite south superstar Vijay in the box office juggernaut Thalaiva in Tamil, her excitement knows no bounds, “This is a story I heard on the phone and I have flown in from my another south movie shoot, just to be a part of the mahurat. It is a great film to do,” she echoes the sentiment of other actors.
Veteran actor Parikshit Sahni, son of legendary actor Balraj Sahni of Do Bigha Zameen, Waqt and other films, says, “My father told me to keep working and doing films that I felt will make a difference to the society. This film is just probably what he wanted me to do, because it drives home a strong message,” says the actor of over a 100 Bollywood movies.
Chal Akela Re has been produced by Sairam Film 2016 and Samiksha Angel Motion Pictures by producers Sameer Dev Kar, Alendar and Vijayendra Yadav.
