upcoming biopic, 'Haseena,' where she is essaying the role of Dawood Ibrahim's
sister, Haseena Parkar.
Since Shraddha is playing such a strong character, we
asked about her favorite woman characters in Indian cinema.
She began with her aunt, Padmini Kolhapure's role in
'Prem Rog,' and said that her sensitive portrayal of her character really
inspired her. She spoke about Sridevi in 'Chaalbaaz,' veteran actress
Waheeda Rehman in 'Pyaasa,' Madhuri Dixit in 'Hum Aapke Hai Koun,' Karisma
Kapoor in 'Judwaa,' and said how these characters have stayed with her over the
years and motivated her to choosing varied roles.
She also spoke about some strong woman characters in the
recent times that have had a lasting impression on the minds of the audience.
She highlighted the characters of Kareena Kapoor in 'Jab We Met,' 'Kangana
Ranaut in 'Queen,' Priyanka Chopra in 'Aitraaz' and Tanvi Azmi in 'Goliyon ki
Rasleela Ram-Leela.' The actress feels that these strong women characters were
not only well written by talented writers, but also phenomenally performed by
the actresses.

etched in everyone's minds and have influenced Shraddha to do good and diverse
