Kate Sharma to star in India's first 3D fairy tale-based film - Cinderella in Bollywood

Teenage social media sensation Kate Sharma has been chosen by director Maneesh Singh to star in India's first 3D fairy tale film produced locally by a local studio. The film has been titled Cinderella in Bollywood and will be an animation movie starring Kate Sharma as Cinderella, Singh announced on his Facebook wall.

The film will be produced jointly under Singh's banner Red Ruby Films and KS Productions and will be made at a lavish budget. However, Singh refused to give details of the budget only saying that the film is expected to go on floor in November this year.

While the film is definitely "inspired" by the story of Cinderella - the fairy tale that millions of kids have loved and enjoyed the world over, it is not a copy of the fabulous story, Singh revealed. It is just draws inspiration from the character of Cinderella but is based on the true story of a young girl trying to make it big in Bollywood.

19-year-old college student Kate Sharma had broken records a few months back.  After she was crowned Miss Pune Selfie Queen, the bubbly model’s selfie images had gone viral in a matter of about 24 hours.

Miss Pune Selfie Queen – is an online pageant conducted by talent agency PageantsWorld.com,Rainbow TeleFilms and Bollywood portal IndyaNewz.com. When the winners were announced, Kate Sharma’s pics clocked over 5 lakh views in less than a day.

Given the fact that she is an aspiring model and actress with no major fan following, the fact that her images clocked over 5 lakh views, was an achievement of sorts.

The Panvel-based, 19-year-old teenager, Kate Sharma was crowned the Miss Pune Selfie Queen after defeating about 70 other participants from Pune and surrounding areas. Kate who had applied for the event and had forgotten it, polled the maximum number of ‘Likes’, ‘Mentions’, ‘Retweets’ and ‘Shares’ on her selfies on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to be the undisputed leader of the pack.

Kate Sharma also won another title Miss India Teen Princess 2016. She has also been approached by a south Indian film director to play a lead role opposite Kamal Hassan in a film called Chandragiri.
