Huma Qureshi will make her debut in Malayalam film industry with the horror flick, White alongside south megastar Mammootty.
The talented actress, who is quite excited about making her foray into the South industry, had to speak Malayalam and get the dialect right in the horror flick, directed by Uday Ananthan.
In order to speak Malayalam fluently, Huma had to learn the language and work on her accent. Accordingly, the director had arranged for a tutor who used to come on sets and help Huma learn the language during breaks.
After the initial few lessons, the tutor regularly visited Huma on the sets, and trained her in between her shots. What surprised the makers, however, was the pace at which Huma picked up the accent and the basics of the language as well.
Interestingly, director Uday, who was quite impressed with her dedication, also told the gorgeous actress that she should do more movies in south as there is a dearth of good actresses.
Huma says, “Shooting for White has turned out to be exciting as it has a number of firsts. It’s my first South film where I had to learn Malayalam language among several other things. I used to sit with the tutor during my breaks, and he helped me familiarise with the nuances of the language, and I’m thankful to him.”
