Tailoring coach inspires Varun’s look in Sui Dhaaga

Varun Dhawan plays the role of an innocent local tailor from heartland India, Mauji, in YRF's upcoming entertainer Sui Dhaaga – Made in India. From the time the first look of Varun was released, it was hugely lauded. Audiences praised the simplicity and authenticity and the look became a huge talking point. The costume designer, Darshan Jalan, revealed the big secret behind his inspiration and it’s a really heart-warming one. No one knows that the tailor overseeing Varun’s prep and training for the film, Noor, is the real inspiration behind Mauji’s look!

Darshan says, “Mauji is from the lower middle class income strata. He is simple person who works in the city as a help/peon in a sewing machine store. Regular people on the streets became an inspiration for us, like the ittar perfume guy from the streets of Haridwar and particularly Noor, our in-house tailor who was also training Varun to perfect his art of stitching and tailoring! From a styling point of view, we ensured that Varun’s look had things that a tailor who could think left of centre would come up with. Such as, zipper on the side of the pants so that he could reduce the size of the flare to keep it from getting caught while cycling. Zipper on the trouser hem so that the ends don't tear. These intricate details I believe makes audience see something new and adds to the authenticity of the character from a small town in India.”

Varun says, “Noor has been integral to Sui Dhaaga. He was my trainer for 3 months. He laid the foundation stone to me becoming Mauji. I’m indebted to him for teaching me the art of sui dhaaga and making me a believable tailor on screen. And I heard that his sense of dressing inspired my look in the film also! Everything in Sui Dhaaga is about authenticity, about being real and that’s what is making audiences love our trailer. I’m happy that my look has been well received and the credit goes to Darshan and obviously my teacher Noor, who has again left his mark over my character.”

Anushka Sharma and Varun Dhawan’s first time pairing in the much awaited Sui Dhaaga – Made in India has become quite a talking point. They play innocent village folk Mauji and Mamta living in heartland India dreaming to make a name for themselves. While Anushka plays an embroiderer, Varun plays the role of a tailor from heartland India.

Their fresh chemistry has been hailed widely and in the first song from the movie titled Chaav Laaga, audiences will witness Mauji and Mamta’s heart-warming, innocent love story. Anushka Sharma and Varun Dhawan have given it all for Sui Dhaaga – Made in India. The superstars play innocent village folk Mauji and Mamta living in heartland India with dreams to make a name for themselves. Director Sharat Katariya wanted to capture the genuine small town essence in his film and went all out to make it as authentic as possible.

Anushka says,“ Craftsmen work day and and night and Sharat wanted to show how a  craftsman in such places would work through the night. We learnt that many use the bright street lights to aid their professional needs and we wanted to capture this in the film.”

Varun says, “These talented artists generally go on the roof of their houses and start working at night. Mauji and Mamta’s character takes a leaf out of this dedication, ambition and entrepreneur spirit. We shot some sewing and embroidering scenes using the street lights of Chanderi and they are really touching. Sharat has got some very heartfelt moments while shooting these scenes.”

Actress Madhuri Dixit is all set to shoot a mujra song for Abhishek Varman's period drama Kalank. Choreographers Remo D'Souza and Saroj Khan come together for this song which will be shot early next month.

While Remo has choreographed all the songs in the film, he agreed to collaborate with Saroj without hesitation as she is his senior. This is the first time ever when two choreographers are jointly collaborating on a song.

Madhuri Dixit who has been choreographed by Saroj Khan for chartbusters like “Ek Do Teen” (Tezaab), “Dhak Dhak” (Beta) and “Choli Ke Peeche Kya Hai” (Khalnayak) will be reuniting after 4 years.

While Madhuri began rehearsals with Saroj and Remo four days ago, the rest of the team has been prepping on a set in Andheri. Confirming the same Saroj Khan says, " Yes, we started work on the mujra four days ago. I’m doing the choreography with Remo looking into the technical aspects. The idea is to create another memorable number that will remind people of our previous songs. People have forgotten pure Indian songs, it’s important to revive them. The song will be shot over three days on September 5, 6 and 7.”

Mamta aka Anushka Sharma plays an embroiderer from heartland India in YRF's upcoming entertainer Sui Dhaaga – Made in India. Known to be a perfectionist, Anushka left no stones unturned to perfect her role on screen. Anushka’ s character in the film becomes self-reliant by using her talent of embroidering and makes a name for herself in her community along with her husband, Mauji, who is a tailor. Together from being unemployed, they become success stories by putting their skills to good use.

“I’m always up for a challenge, up for a new journey and experience through my films. I knew I had to look the part and also come across extremely confident with the art of Sui Dhaaga. I knew I had to give in considerable time and effort to look like an authentic embroiderer and I was really excited to learn this skill. I really dived into the prep sessions and I enjoyed them thoroughly,” says Anushka.

Producer Maneesh Sharma adds, “Anushka becomes the character she plays on screen. That’s her unique and rare talent. She knew the art of Sui Dhaaga because she did a bit of it at her school. She practised it thoroughly and she was a pro at it. Anushka is a perfectionist and she ensured that she prepped for about 2 months before she gave the first shot of her embroidering and it was perfect. She used to do embroidering even on the sets so that she keeps practising the skill. I think after a point, she just did it because she was having fun on the sets.”

Varun learnt tailoring for 3 months for Sui Dhaaga!

Mauji aka Varun Dhawan plays a local tailor from heartland India in YRF's upcoming entertainer Sui Dhaaga – Made in India. And to perfectly portray this role on screen, Varun ensured that he gave his best during the preparations before he started filming.

“I knew that I had a task at hand. I knew I had to master the art to convince people that I am a real masterji. Darshan (the costume designer) and Noor bhai (the tailor on the sets) helped me a lot and I gave it three months to learn this skill. As an actor, I like to get challenged to become someone else on screen,” says Varun, whose transformation as Mauji has wowed audiences.

“It wasn’t easy at all. It was frustrating because initially I wasn’t getting it right. The needle pierced by fingers multiple times. I’m so glad that I went through the drill because I have picked up a new skill in the process. It took me 3 months, sometimes 2 hours and sometimes 4 hours in each tailoring class to get the confidence that I could pull this off in front of camera. I felt it is my responsibility as an actor that I should come across convincing and I couldn’t break Sharat's trust on me. Today I’m very comfortable on the sewing machine and can make a lot of things like a shirt, trousers, pillow cases, etc. 
It feels really good to see how people are responding to the trailer and are liking my hard work and the character Mauji,” he adds.

A close source to Mr. Resul Pookutty has said that Mr. Bachchan has not only donated ₹51 lakhs cash but he has also sent six cartons of his personal clothing including of around 80 jackets, 25 pants, 20 shirts and Scarves. The actor has also donated around 40 shoes.

Rani Mukerji won hearts as well as box office glory with her convincing and spirited performance as a teacher who deals with Tourette Syndrome in Hichki earlier this year. Since then, the film has been winning laurels across the globe as well. The film received a standing ovation at the Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF) and at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM). Rani also won the Best Actress award for her outstanding performance at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne.

The film is set to release in Russia and now in Kazakhstan. Known for some interest in Hindi films, Hichki will get a Russian voice over release here, as it is one of Kazakhstan’s official languages.

The music of Dev D went on to win composer Amit Trivedi a National award and the maverick now reunites with director Anurag Kashyap for Manmarziyaan.

Anurag Kashyap is back with his rendition of a musical love story, this time around revisiting romance in the bylanes of Amritsar with colours, emotions and music pulsating through his story.

Already touted to be the album of the year , the music of the film now comes live to a city near you with “Manmarziyaan concerts” as the starcast of the film Abhishek Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu & Vicky Kausal,director Anurag Kashyap, music director Amit Trivedi & his band and over 20 singers will tour across metro cities in India.

The tour flagged off today at Mumbai’s Narsee Monjee College , and will soon be followed by other cities like Nagpur, Hyderabad, Indore, Delhi and Chandigarh over every weekend leading to the film’s big theatrical release on 14th September.

Amit Trivedi and his band put up a spectacular show at Umang and received a warm reception from college students across the city. The concert opened to a packed house at the popular festival and just as promised, was truly a musical night to remember.

Rohit Roy launches Temple Of India’s first book titled Bengal: India’s Rebellious Spirit

Places of worship are decorated like palaces while orphanages, government schools, old age homes and even some government hospitals suffer from capital crunch, inadequate infrastructure and lack of support from the crowd. This has been the state of things around the world for a long, long time.

So, when 'Temple of India' was launched, founder, Hatim Attarwala, wanted people to realise that true worship necessitates the imbibing of humanity – one thing that every single religion preaches and promotes. He aims to make humanity the prime belief of every human being on the planet so that no child goes hungry while another walks past him or her with hands full of food. As Attarwala says, “If we can share, then let us do it. If we have the ability to make a difference, then let us not stop short”.

In order to become a self-sustaining non-profit organisation, ‘Temple of India’ has launched their first book, ‘Bengal: India’s Rebellious Spirit’. Proceeds from the sales of this book will be used towards the running of the organisation, the upliftment of backward communities in West Bengal and the feeding of poor and homeless people in Mumbai.

Actor Rohit Roy, who launched the book, was impressed with the work of the foundation. “It is amazing what Temple of India is doing. I hope they achieve success in all their endeavours and help as many people as they can,” he says. The launch was a mighty success with celebrities such as Kunal Ganjawala, Hrishikesh PandeyHarshali Zine, Munisha Khatwan, Vinod Singh, Akshay Sethi in attendance. The celebrities caught up with the initiatives of the organisations and also gave their valuable inputs.

‘परी हूँ मैं’ या चित्रपटातील गाणी संगीतकार समीर सप्तीसकर यांनी संगीतबद्ध केली असून अभिषेक खणकर आणि सचिन पाठक गीतकार आहेत. चित्रपटात तीन गीते असून प्रत्येक गीत वेगळ्या जॉनरचे आहे, सुप्रसिद्ध गायक शंकर महादेवन, अमृता फडणवीस, जिया वाडकर आणि मंदार पिलवलकर यांचा स्वर गीतांना लाभला आहे. शंकर महादेवन यांनी ‘वेगे वेगे धावू’ हे गीत गायले असून अमृता फडणवीस यांनी ‘चंदण बिलोरी’ ही अंगाई तर मंदार पिलवलकर यांनी ‘चंदण बिलोरी’चे मेल व्हर्जन गायले आहे. ‘परी हूँ मैं’ चे शीर्षकगीत जिया वाडकर हिने गायले असून तिचे हे पहिले पार्श्वगायन आहे.

This surely calls for a celebration. But, the actor who is currently shooting in Gulmarg for his next has decided against celebrating  owing to the unforeseen floods in Kerala.

John says, " I am overwhelmed by all the adulation from the paisa paying public as well as the industry at large. Everyone is asking me when are we celebrating but, for me it’s business as usual as I’m shooting in Gulmarg for my next film. In any case I am devastated by the unprecedented situation in Kerala. I have family there and although they are safe so many others are still suffering."

छबिलदास शाळेतील १९६८ बॅचच्या सुवर्णमहोत्सवानिमित्त ‘स्वरमुग्धा आर्ट्स’ व ‘भारतीय जीवन विमा निगम’ प्रस्तुत ‘तुम्हे याद करते करते’

दादर म्हणजे कला, क्रीडा, संस्कृती आणि शिक्षणाचा वारसा जपणारे मुंबईचे मध्यवर्ती केंद्र! याच दादरमध्ये गोपाळ नारायण अक्षीकरांसारख्या तडफदार तरुणाने २ जून १८८९ रोजी एका शैक्षणिक संस्थेची स्थापना केली. ती संस्था म्हणजे छबिलदास शाळा. लोकमान्य टिळकांना गुरू मानणाऱ्या अक्षीकरांनी लावलेल्या रोपट्याचा आज वटवृक्ष झालाय! स्वतः संस्थापक असून निःस्वार्थीपणे अक्षीकरांनी ‘जनरल एज्युकेशन इन्स्टिट्यूट (GEI) नावाचा ट्रस्ट स्थापन केला. आज GEI च्या छत्राखाली २०००० विद्यार्थी शिक्षण घेत असून ५५० शिक्षक व १५० शिक्षकेतर कर्मचारी कार्यरत आहेत.

या शाळेने समाजाला अनेक कर्तृत्ववान व्यक्ती बहाल केल्या, त्याही विविध क्षेत्रातील! अजित वाडेकर, डॉ. नरेंद्र जाधव, रामदास पाध्ये, दिलीप प्रभावळकर, चंद्रकांत लिमये, बाळ धुरी, विकास सबनीस, विजय गोखले, किशोर रांगणेकर, अजिंक्य रहाणे इ. नामवंत व्यक्तींचा आम्हाला अभिमान वाटतो.

अशा अनेक माजी विद्यार्थ्यांपैकी १९६८ साली ११ वी उत्तीर्ण झालेल्या त्यांच्या बॅचचा सुवर्णमहोत्सव साजरा करण्याचे ठरवले आहे. या बॅचमधील ‘अ’ वर्गात शिकलेले कृष्णकुमार गावंड, श्रीकांत कुलकर्णी आणि स्व. वसंत खेर यांनी मनोरंजन क्षेत्रात प्रचंड योगदान दिले आहे(ऑर्केस्ट्रा, ऑडिओ व्हिडिओ माध्यम) १९७६ साली या त्रयीने ‘सिंफनी’ नावाची संस्था स्थापन करून ‘याद ए. शंकर जयकिशन’ कार्यक्रमाची निर्मिती केली. शुभारंभाच्या प्रयोगाला खुद्द शंकर (जयकिशन) यांनी जातीने हजर राहून आशीर्वाद दिले. त्यानंतर याच संस्थेने ‘झपाटा’ नावाचा कार्यक्रम करून हिंदी मनोरंजन क्षेत्रात क्रांति केली. ‘मंगलगाणी दंगलगाणी’ या ‘सिंफनी’च्या कार्यक्रमाने मराठी वाद्यवृंदाला एक वेगळी दिशा दिली.

सध्या प्रा. कृष्णकुमार गावंड, संगीतकार शंकर जयकिशन यांच्या कारकीर्दीचा आढावा घेणारा एकपात्री दृव्‌श्राव्य कार्यक्रम ‘तुम्हे याद करते करते’ सादर करतात. या कार्यक्रमास भारतभर छान प्रतिसाद मिळत आहे. हाच कार्यक्रम १९६८ बॅचच्या सुवर्ण महोत्सवानिमित्त २२ ऑगस्ट रोजी रात्रौ ८ वाजता दादरच्या शिवाजी मंदिरात सादर होणार आहे. या कार्यक्रमातून शाळेसाठी निधी उभारण्याचा हेतू असून कार्यक्रमाचे आयोजन ‘स्वरमुग्धा आर्ट्स’ व ‘भारतीय जीवन विमा निगम’ यांनी केली आहे.

अशा या कार्यक्रमाच्या निमित्ताने सर्व माजी विद्यार्थी एकत्र येतील आणि याचवेळी शाळेसाठी निधीही गोळा करता येईल असा आमचा विश्वास आहे. अश्या सोहळ्यास सर्व हितचिंतकांनीही उपस्थित राहून कार्यक्रमाची शोभा वाढवावी. तसेच आपणही आपापल्या परीने आर्थिक साहाय्य करून शाळेच्या विकासाला हातभार लावावा ही विनंती.

*अटल है ध्यास अटल है विश्वास*भारतीय जनता पार्टी चे सर्वोच्च नेतृत्व श्रधेय स्वर्गीय अटल बिहारी वाजपेयी यांचा जन्म 25 डिसेंबर 1925 ला ग्वाल्हेर मध्य प्रदेश राज्यात जाला वयाच्या 15 व्या वर्षा पासून अटलजी चा राष्ट्रीय स्वयंसेवक संघ च्या कार्याशी जवळ चा संबंध आला संघ स्वयंसेवक ते संघ प्रचारक अश्या विविध महत्वपूर्ण जबाबदाऱ्या त्या यशस्वी रित्या पार पाडल्या  लखनऊ  विद्यापीठा तुन  एम ए चे शिक्षण  ज़ालेले अटलजी ना राजशास्रात पीएचडी करावयाची होती परंतु संघ विचाराने प्रेरित होऊन संघ कार्यात त्यांनी स्वताला वाहून घेतले
देशाच्या राजकारणात जवळपास ६० वर्ष अविरत उत्साहाने आणि अतिशय सभ्यतेने वावरणा-या राजकारण्यांमध्ये अटलजींचे नाव आदराने घेतले जाते. एक हिंदी कवी म्हणून जीवनाची  सुरुवात करणारे अटलजी, हे शामाप्रसाद मुखर्जी यांच्या सहवासात आले. त्यांचे सचिव बनले आणि अटलजींच्या नेतृत्वाला परिसस्पर्श झाला. १९५७ मध्ये बलरामपूर लोकसभा मतदारसंघातून लोकसभेत पहिल्यांदा पाऊल ठेवणारे वाजपेयी, बलरामपूरला निवडणूक लढवायला जाताना कोणतेही रिझव्‍‌र्हेशन नसलेल्या तिस-या वर्गाच्या डब्यात, जिथे सामान ठेवतात त्या वरच्या बाकावर झोपून बलरामपूरला पोहोचले होते. त्यांच्या लालित्यपूर्ण लिखाणात (अपनी अपनी बात) त्यांनी त्या प्रवासाचे अतिशय सुंदर वर्णन केलेले आहे. संसदेमध्ये पहिल्यांदा दाखल झाल्यानंतर तरुणपणातल्या त्यांच्या अमोघ वाणीने त्यांनी विरोधी पक्षाच्या बाकाला आणि विषयांना प्रतिष्ठा प्राप्त करून दिली. विरोधी पक्षाच्या बाकावर बसलेल्या सदस्याला, सत्ताधारी पक्षाच्या बाकावरचे सदस्य किती सन्मानाने वागवतात आणि त्याचा कसा आदर करतात, याचे उदाहरण वाजपेयीच आहेत. त्यावेळचे सर्वोच्च लोकप्रिय पंतप्रधान पंडित जवाहरलाल नेहरू हेही वाजपेयी यांच्या अत्यंत मुद्देसूद, अभ्यासपूर्ण भाषणाने प्रभावीत होत असत आणि याच पंडितजींनी तेवढय़ाच मोकळेपणाने १९५८ सालातच सांगून टाकले होते की, ‘प्रधानमंत्री पद के लिए अटलजी का एक दिन पक्का..’ पंडितजींचे ते शब्द २८ वर्र्षानी खरे ठरले.सन १९५७ पासून ५० वर्षा पेक्षा जास्त वर्ष कार्य करणारे एकमेव खासदार आहेत आणीबाणी  मध्ये 19 महिने कारवास भोगले नंतर 1977 मध्ये देशा चे परराष्ट्र मंत्री जाले  पुढे आरएसएस च्या विचार घेऊन भारतीय जनसंघ ची भारतीय जनता पार्टी 6 एप्रिल 1980 ला बनली मुंबई येथे स्थापन ज़ालेल्या भाजपा चे प्रथम अध्यक्ष होण्याचा गौरव अटलजी  प्राप्त जाला 1980 ते1996 या 16 वर्षा च्या काळात अटलजी नी भाजपा चे विस्तारा साठी संपूर्ण हिन्दुस्थान भर प्रवास केला १९९६च्या लोकसभेत १६२ जागा मिळवणा-या भारतीय जनता पक्षाला सगळ्यात मोठा पक्ष म्हणून मान्यता मिळाली आणि अवघ्या १३ दिवसांकरिता वाजपेयी पंतप्रधान झाले. लोकसभागृहात पुरेसे बहुमत मिळवता आले नाही म्हणून मतदान होण्यापूर्वीच त्यांनी राष्ट्रपतींकडे जाऊन राजीनामा सादर केला. पुन्हा 1998 साली  व1999 साली अटलजी तिसऱ्यादा देशा चे पंतप्रधान जाले या 6 वर्षा चे पंतप्रधान पदा चे काळात 1998 साली पोखरण राजस्थान येथे अणुस्फोट करून त्यांनी देशाला विश्वात शक्तिशाली महासत्ता म्हणून सादर केले
पंतप्रधान होण्यापूर्वी जनसंघाचे संस्थापक सदस्य, खासदार (१९५७, १९६२), जनसंघाचे अध्यक्ष (१९६८ ते १९७३), लोकसभेतल्या जनसंघ गटाचे नेते (१९५७ ते १९७७), जनता पक्षाच्या सरकारात परराष्ट्रमंत्री (१९७७ ते १९७९), भारतीय जनता पक्षाचे अध्यक्ष (१९८० ते १९८६), भारतीय जनता पक्ष संसदीय दलाचे नेते (१९८० ते १९९६),  भारताचे पंतप्रधान,  (१९९६ आणि १९९८ ते २००४) अशी त्यांची प्रदीर्घ संसदीय कारकीर्द आहे. या कारकिर्दीप्रमाणेच सामान्य माणसाला वाजपेयी माहिती आहेत ते एक अमोघ वक्ते आणि सभा गाजवणारे नेते म्हणून. जुन्या जनसंघाने आणि नंतर भाजपाने ‘प्रधानमंत्री की अगली बारी-अटलबिहारी’ अशा अनेक वेळा घोषणा दिल्या होत्या. त्या घोषणा वाजपेयी यांच्या नेतृत्वामुळेच वास्तवात उतरू शकल्या. ते पंतप्रधान झाल्यानंतरही त्यांचा चेहरा कधी ‘कट्टर’ वाटला नाही पण हिंदु धर्म , संस्कृति , परंपरा आणि इतिहास या बाबत ते संवेदनाक्षम होते या सर्व गोष्टी बाबत त्यांना प्रचंड अभिमान गर्व होता  आणि त्यांची सर्व जाती-धर्माना बरोबर घेऊन जाण्याची सर्वव्यापक भूमिका कधीही लपून राहिली नाही.  राजकीय हिंसाचाराला वाजपेयींचा जसा विरोध होता तसाच जाती-धर्माच्या नावावर राजकारणात टोकाचे मतभेद करण्यालाही त्यांचा विरोध होता. बाबरी मशीद पाडली गेली तेव्हा त्या सगळ्या उन्मादात वाजपेयी कुठेही सामील झालेले नव्हते आणि ‘जे झाले ते योग्य झालेले नाही’, असे त्यांचे प्रांजळ मत त्यांनी अगदी स्पष्टपणे नोंदवलेले होते. ते काँग्रेसचे विरोधक होते; पण, देशाच्या उभारणीत काँग्रेसचा जो प्रचंड त्याग आहे, त्याबद्दल नेहमीच ते आदराने बोलत असत. विरोधी बाकावर असतानाही पंडितजींच्या परराष्ट्र धोरणाची स्तुती करताना त्यांना कधी संकोच वाटला नाही आणि स्वत: परराष्ट्रमंत्री झाल्यावरही पंडितजींबद्दल गौरवाचे उद्गार काढताना त्यांनी कधी हात आखडता घेतला नाही

Late Mr. Yash Chopra Directs Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's Music VideoMr. Late.Yash Chopra got a rare distinction of directing the Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee for a music video 'Kya Khoya Kya Paaya'. 'Samvedna', a music album released by Saregama, is a collection of poems written by Mr. Vajpayee, which is composed and sung by ghazal exponent Jagjit Singh. There is a preface to the album by Amitabh Bachchan, which is written by Javed Akhtar. 

The music video directed by Yash Chopra was shot in 2 days and also featured Shah Rukh Khan, who personified the poet's thoughts.

The Prime Minister received the first copy of the album after sitar maestro Pandit Ravi Shankar released it on 10 February 2002 at Siri Fort Auditorium, New Delhi. The album is interspersed with his narrative, explaining his feelings behind each poem that were written during the Emergency.

On his debut as an actor, the PM said: "Yash Chopra suddenly came into my room and said that he would like to direct me to which I replied 'I am ready to place myself in your hands and will do whatever you direct'. I have always been an admirer of his work".

Continuing the trend of identifying and launching promising directors, T-Series’ Bhushan Kumar and Ellipsis Entertainment (Tanuj Garg, Atul Kasbekar) have confirmed Tahira Kashyap Khurrana to take the helm of their third collaboration.

Ellipsis Entertainment had earlier introduced renowned ad filmmaker Ram Madhvani to direct “Neerja”. T-Series and Ellipsis then launched Suresh Triveni as director in “Tumhari Sulu”, and more recently, Soumik Sen for his second feature, “Cheat India”, which is currently under production.

A statement from the producers read, “Tahira has worn several hats…. from being the programming head of a radio station in the North to a theatre writer-director, author, teacher of mass communication and journalism, and short film-maker. Her incredible stories are rooted in realism and heart. We are delighted to back her debut journey and look forward to making many more movies with her.”

Said Tahira, “I am delighted to be working with such incredible partners to bring a take on urban existence to the big screen. It feels surreal that something I had dreamt of for the longest, is finally happening. I’ve been writing screenplays for five years. It wasn’t an easy ride for me. I’m glad that Ellipsis believed in me, and together with T-Series, has given me a platform to breathe life into my script. I am truly excited about this new phase in my life and career.”

The untitled film, a warm slice-of-life drama set in Mumbai, will go into production early next year. Casting is in progress and will be announced shortly.

Ever since ‘Cheat India’ was announced, there has been much curiosity about the film. Also because Emraan Hashmi, who is also debuting as a producer (with T-Series and Ellipsis Entertainment), has not been seen in a film which is as stark and real as ‘Cheat India’ and in a raw, Indian heartland milieu.

Says Emraan, “A decade ago, films like Cheat India would have been dismissed by the industry as being ahead of their time, but today with the changing language of cinema and the changing audience, I can experiment.”

He adds, “We read so much daily about the scams that plague our education system: SSC and HSC paper leaks, CBSE re-examination, Vyaapam, etc. The whole concept of buying your way through education, jobs and earnings is disturbing. It is important for people to understand the vulnerability of hardworking and gifted students who get left out. Though our education system has evolved over the decades, the malpractices exist. The fact that we judge students on the basis of their report cards has resulted in the thievery of our education system.”

Emraan ensured that he made sure his son, Ayaan, opt for a different curriculum where there is no encouragement to learn-by-rote (mugging) but a focus on the development of social skills, discipline and responsibility.

Bhushan Kumar, Tanuj Garg, Atul Kasbekar and Emraan Hashmi are producing the drama, based on real incidents, which is set for a 25 January, 2019 release. Soumik Sen is directing the film, which is under production in U.P.

The current heartthrob of the nation, Kartik Aaryan is currently busy shooting for Dinesh Vijan’s Luka Chuppi in his hometown, Gwalior. The actor is having a great time shooting there, enjoying the perks of being around his family and having home-cooked meals on the set. And as he was in his hometown, he visited his school as a special guest to hoist the flag this Independence Day.

Kartik Aaryan has studied in St. Pauls High School and when the staff came to know about his arrival in the city, they were more than happy to invite him for this special day. Despite Kartik being busy with the shooting for the film, he instantly said yes when he was invited for it. The actor has studied till Grade X in St. Pauls and was obviously delighted to go back to school. With so many memories attached he was quite excited for the flag hoisting ceremony and meet the students and his some old teachers in the school. “Teachers and faculty of school were really happy to meet the ever-smiling and the most humble actor. Children went mad seeing the actor, They were proud of him and his achievements in the film industry. More than 3000 kids were present for the flag-hoisting ceremony and plus few kids performed to his songs to welcome their loved ex-student,” says a source.

When asked Kartik, he was beaming with joy sharing his experience of going back to school, “I was excited to go back to my school. I was feeling honoured to do the flag hosting in my school. It was one of the proud moments for me. I met my teachers and it was quite nostalgic for me to relive my school days.”

It’s said Kartik will play a role of an local news reporter in the film, and the movie filled with entertainment. Paired opposite Kriti Sanon for the first time, fans are quite excited to see this fresh pairing on the big screen. Their first picture together created a storm on the internet and went viral. There are also plans to release the teaser of the movie on October 2, which is Gandhi Jayanti and to release the trailer of the movie on November 19, which happens to be the birth anniversary of Rani Lakshmibai.

Two times National Award winning actor, Manoj Bajpayee's Hindi psychological drama, Gali Guleiyan (In the Shadows) continued its winning ways at the prestigious Indian Film Festival of Melbourne, last night.
The film won accolades in two out the four categories that it was nominated in (Best Actor: Manoj Bajpayee, Best Director: Dipesh Jain, Best Supporting Actor: Ranvir Shorey, Best Indie Film).

Manoj Bajpayee won the Best Actor award for his heart wrenching portrayal of a man trapped within the walls and alleys of Old Delhi and his own mind, who attempts to break free to find a human connection. The nominees in this category included- Akshay Kumar (Padman), Ranbir Kapoor (Sanju), Ranveer Singh & Shahid Kapoor (Padmavat), Varun Dhawan (October), among others.

Pakhi postponed

Under the banner of Chilsag pictures the social crime drama “Pakhi” unfolding the miseries of the web of child trafficking got stuck for censor certificate. Pakhi is a social crime drama movie which had made headlines in the media in the recent days and was nationally promoted but got stuck in for the censor certification. Earlier it was scheduled to be released on 10th August 2018 but now will be postponed.

Pakhi is written by writer-director Sachin Gupta. Sumeet Kaul, Anamika Shukla, Pihu, Shikandar Khan and Anmol Goswami are in the leads. The music is embraced by Shivang Mathur and lyrics by Shayra Apoorva. Navin Kumar is the cinematographer and Ajay Shivan is the editor and choreographer of the film. The background score is given by Nikkhil Koparde.

Crazy Matrimonial Video of Jackky Bhagnani

This afternoon, Alia Bhatt shared a crazy matrimonial video starring Jackky Bhagnani. The video happens to be the first glimpse of his upcoming film "Mitron", directed by National award-winning director, Nitin Kakkar.

Sharing the first look of the film on her social media account, Alia said: "I came across a crazy matrimonial video. Simply loved it...! #MitronMania begins on 14th August."

The video is titled Jai and Pappa, features Jackky and his on-screen father, who is struggling to get his good-for-nothing son married. Jai, a Gujarati guy, 175 cms tall with a wheatish complexion and very homely, for  more details check out his Video resume here:

"Mitron" directed by Nitin Kakkar and produced by Abundantia Entertainment, stars Jackky Bhagnani in the lead role along with Kritika Kamra, Neeraj Sood Shivam Parekh and Pratik Gandhi in pivotal roles. The trailer of the film will be unveiled on August 14, 2018, and the film will hit the silver screens on September 14, 2018.

Priyanka, Farhan and Zaira begin filming for Ronnie and Sid’s next

Shonali Bose to write and direct film based on an inspiring true story

The much awaited untitled film starring Priyanka Chopra, Farhan Akhtar and Zaira Wasim in the lead roles begins its first schedule in Mumbai today.

The film, based on an incredibly moving true life story, is to be helmed by National Award winning filmmaker Shonali Bose and will be filmed across Mumbai, Delhi, London and the Andamans. The dialogues are by National Award winning writer Juhi Chaturvedi and the music will be scored by Pritam.

Shonali Bose shares,* “This is a film that is extremely close to my heart and I am glad to have such a stellar team on board. This is a dream star cast and I have found the best, most supportive producers in Ronnie and Sid. I am looking forward to a great journey ahead and hoping to give our audiences a truly memorable cinematic experience.”

For Ronnie and Sid, this is their sixth time working with Priyanka Chopra after collaborating on landmark films including Fashion, Kaminey, and Barfi.

Siddharth Roy Kapur said, “It is exciting to begin Roy Kapur Films’ first production with a story as special as this one, and to collaborate on it with RSVP and Ronnie, who has been a mentor to me throughout my career. We are also happy to take forward our long and successful association with Priyanka, and to have her production house Purple Pebble Pictures as a co-producing partner on the film.
