Mithun Chakraborty's father Basantkumar Chakraborty Passes awsy

Here's an interesting trivia about Mithun and his father.

Mithun Chakraborty's father breathed his last in Mumbai on Tuesday, but the veteran actor is currently stranded in Bengaluru owing to the ongoing COVID-19 lockdown.

Basanta Kumar Chakraborty, 95, reportedly died of renal failure after battling health problems for a while now.

When Mithun opened his hotel Monarch in Ooti once he invited his father to this hill station. His father saw the hotel and was happy with the progress of the son. One fine day he saw the menu card of the hotel and his eyes fall on the price of mineral water bottle.

Seeing the price he called Mithun and said, " it's ok you are charging for the services provided by your hotel. But charging for water bottle is not acceptable to me. Paani ka bhi koi charge hota hain kya".

Mithun understood the feelings of father and immediately he slashed the charges of mineral water bottles.

Those days the price of a water bottle was Rs.10 and in the menu card of Monarch too the rate was corrected to ten only. 

For the shooting coverage I been to Ooty many times and each time I used to check menu card to know about the price of water bottle and must say the hotel used to charge market rate only.

In fact the father had said, "ab tere yeh din aa gaye ki tu paani se bhi paise kamayega".
