विकी डोनर, परमाणु, मद्रास कॅफे या चित्रपटांनतर जॉन अब्राहम निर्माता म्हणून  बाटला हाऊस या चित्रपटासह तयार आहे. दिल्ली हायकोतर्टाने बंदी उठवल्यानंतर, उदया तो चित्रपट भारतभर प्रदर्शित होत आहे. यासह जॉन बरोबर केलेली बातचित,

दिल्ली हायकोर्टाने बाटला हाऊस वरील बंदी उठवली आहे. त्यामुळे चित्रपट प्रदर्शित झाला काय सांगशिल त्याबद्दल?

बाटला हाऊसमध्ये आरोपी असलेल्या दोन गुन्हेगारांनी, या चित्रपटावर बंदी आणावी यासाठी कोर्टात याचिका दाखल केली होती. परंतु, आम्ही या चित्रपटाची कथा हि सार्वजनिक असलेल्या माहितीवर आधारीत असल्याचे पुरावे दिले. त्यात कोणत्याही घटनेला खोटे दाखवले गेले नाही, किंवा कोणत्याही घटनेचे उदात्तीकरण केलेले ऩसल्याचे आम्ही सिध्द केले. त्याखेरीज लहान मुले बॉम्ब तयार करत आहेत, तिच मुले कुराणचा वास्ता देत चर्चा करत राहतात या दोन दृष्यांना आम्ही टोन डाऊन केलं आहे. कोर्टाने, सोमवारी चित्रपट पाहिला आणि मंगळवारी त्यावर दिवसभर चर्चा करुन काल प्रदर्शित करायची ऑर्डर काढली. आता बाटला हाऊस, ठरवलेल्या तारखेनुसार प्रदर्शित होत आहे. 

बाटला हाऊस सारख्या वास्तववादी भुमिकांसाठी जेंव्हा दिग्दर्शकांकडून विचारणा होते, तेंव्हा नेमकं कसं वाटतं?

नक्कीच चांगलं वाटतं. काही असे विशिष्ट कलाकार आहेत, ज्यांचं त्यांच्या देशावर प्रेम आहे आणि ते त्यांच्या चेहऱ्यावरुन आणि देहबोलीतूनही दिसून येतं. माझं माझ्या देशावर असलेलं प्रेम अगदी स्पष्ट आहे आणि मुख्य म्हणजे संजीव कुमार यादव या व्यक्तिरेखेसाठी माझी शरिरयष्टी अगदी चपखल आहे. निखिलने मला ही पटकथा एकदा तरी वाचून पहाच, असा आग्रह केला आणि जेंव्हा मी ती वाचली तेंव्हा मी थक्क झालो. सत्य हे कल्पनेपेक्षाही चमत्कारीत असते. मला सुरुवातीला वाटलं की हे काल्पनिक आहे, पण त्यातील प्रत्येक गोष्ट खरी आहे. आणि त्या चित्रपटाची निर्मीती देखिल केली.

घटना आणि भुमिका दोन्ही वास्तवदर्शी आहेत. कश्याप्रकारे भुमिकेची तयारी केली?

तुम्ही जेव्हा वास्तविक पात्र साकारत असता, तेंव्हा तुम्ही सर्जनशील स्वातंत्र्य घेऊ शकता, पण त्यासाठी  मर्यादा निश्चित करणे आवश्यक असते. आणि मी संजीव कुमार यादव यांच्याबरोबर ऐक दिवस घालवण्याचा निर्णय घेतला. पहिल्या दिवशी मी त्यांच्याबरोबर सहा तास होतो आणि त्या दरम्यान त्यांच्या मनात काय सुरु आहे याची अंतर्गत प्रक्रिया समजून घेण्याचा मी प्रयत्न केला. बंदूक वापरायला शिकलो. बाबरी मशीद प्रकरणानंतरचे हे वादग्रस्त प्रकरण होते आणि हा विषय आम्ही कसा हातळणार आहोत, हे खूपच महत्वाचे होते. त्यांना पीपीएसटी पोस्ट ट्रॉमॅटीक समस्या होती. त्यांची पत्नी त्यांना सोडून जाऊ इच्छित होती आणि त्याचबरोबर काही कौटुंबिक समस्याही होत्या. त्यांना आत्महत्या करावीशी वाटत होती आणि भारत सरकारकडून त्यांची चौकशी सुरु होती. (आतापर्यंत)त्यांनी नऊ शौर्य पुरस्कार मिळवले आहेत. घटनेपुर्व त्यांना(यापैकी) सहा शौर्य पुरस्कारांनी गौरवण्यात आले होते. या सगळ्या गोष्टींचे संतुलन राखणे आवश्यक होते आणि आम्ही बरयापैकी तसा प्रयत्न केला आहे.


निखिलला आणि तुला बाटला हाऊस हा विषय का आकर्षक वाटला?

निखील अडवाणी दिग्दर्शित डी-डे हा चित्रपट मला खुप आवडला होता. मात्र बाटला हाऊस हा चित्रपट त्याच  दृष्टीकोणातून बनवता येणार नाही, यावर आमचं दोघांचं एकमत होतं. पिडीतांचा दृष्टीकोन, दहशतवाद्यांचा दृष्टीकोन आणि आम्ही त्यांची कशी व्याख्या करतो ते, दिल्ली पोलिस, साक्षीदारांचा दृष्टीकोन आणि चौथा न्यायालयाचा दृष्टीकोन... हे सगळे ऍंगल आणि चर्चा महत्वाची होती. आहे. आणि मला वाटतं प्रेक्षकांना ती नक्कीच आवडेल.   

अरिझ खानचे काय?

या प्रकरणावर सध्या न्यायालयीन सुनावणी सुरु आहे. त्यामुळे मला त्यावर भाष्य करण्याची परवानगी नाही. बाटला हाऊस ही एका वास्तव घटनेपासून प्रेरीत अशी काल्पनिक कथा आहे. तसा आम्ही डिस्क्लेमरही दिला आहे. आमच्याकडे सीबीएफसीचे यु/ए प्रमाणपत्र आहे, त्यामुळे या विषयावरील मत मी राखून ठेवले आहे.

बाटला हाऊस हा विषय वादातीत आहे. त्यावर चित्रपट तयार करताना भिती नाही वाटली तुला ?

चित्रपटात सगळ्या दृष्टीकोनांतून भाष्य करण्यात आले आहे आणि आम्ही ते प्रेक्षकांवर सोपवले आहे. कलाकार आणि दिग्दर्शक म्हणून तुम्हाला तुमचे राजकीय पक्षपात बाजूला ठेवावे लागतात आणि प्रेक्षकांसमोर निःपक्षपाती दृष्टीकोन मांडावा लागतो. आणि आम्ही ते काम केलं आहे.

सत्यघटनांचे दस्तऐवजीकरण आपल्याकडे फारसे होत नाही. त्यामुळे की काय वास्तवदर्शी चित्रपट ही आपल्याकडे फारसे होत नाहीत?

कोणालातरी ते काम करावे लागणारच. आणि ते मी परमाणुच्या वेळी केले. मद्रास कॅफे या चित्रपटाच्या शेवटी पण तसेच झाले. चित्रपट पाहून लोकं म्हणाले की तो ऑफीसर शेवटी मारला गेला आणि जॉन अब्राहमने त्याला वाचवले नाही. देशाच्या तरुणाईला राजीव गांधींच्या हत्येविषयी माहिती नाही. पन्नास तरुणांपैकी एक जण फक्त म्हणाला की तो चित्रपट राजीव गांधींशी संबंधित आहे. ही देशाची आजची परिस्थिती आहे. जेएफकेकडे पाहिलं तर समजतं की विदेशी लोकांनी  कशाप्रकारे सत्यघटनांचे दस्तऐवजीकरण केले आहे. पण त्याचबरोबर ते अतिशय रंजकही बनवलं आहे. कोणीतरी अशा गोष्टी सांगितल्याच पाहिजेत आणि मी ते करत असल्याचा मला आनंद आहे.

निर्मात्याच्या भूमिकेत शिरावं असं का वाटलं ?

मी निर्माता झालो कारण एक अभिनेता म्हणून मला माझ्या आवडीचे चित्रपट करायला मिळत नव्हते. निर्माता झाल्यावर एक अभिनेता म्हणूनही माझ्यात सुधारणा झाली. कोणीतरी आजचा, वेगळा विषय असलेला सिनेमा करायला हवा. विक्की डोनरने बधाई हो बधाई, शुभमंगल सावधान, उरी, आर्टीकल 15, खानदानी शफाखाना या सारख्या चित्रपटांना जन्म दिला. तुम्ही ट्रेंड सेटर असायला हवं असं मला वाटते आणि मला काही तरी वेगळं करायचं होतं.

व्यावसायिकदृष्ट्या यशस्वी चित्रपट तयार करताना तुम्हाला तडजोड करणं भाग असतं का?

मला तरी तडजोड करावी लागते, कारण मी छोट्या बजेटचे चित्रपट करत असतो. माझ्याकडे मोठ्या आणि आलिशान सेटस् ची चैन नाही. बाटला हाऊस करत असताना सेटलाईट हक्क, संगीत, डीजीटल यासह चित्रपटाचा बाकी खर्च वगळून आम्ही चित्रपट भारतभर प्रदर्शित करु शकलो. शंभरापैकी, पन्नास रुपये वितरकाकडे जातात. वितरण साखळीत प्रत्येक जण सुरक्षित आहे. मुख्य म्हणजे, एक चांगले कथानक तुम्हाला सर्वोत्तम प्रकारे सांगण्यासाठी मी माझ्या डोक्याचा वापर करण्याचा प्रयत्न करतो.

तुझ्या चित्रपटातील नायिकांच्या निवडीबाबत काय सांगशील?

तेमी दिग्दर्शकांवर सोपवतो. परमाणुमध्ये माझ्याबरोबर अनुजा साठे आणि मृणाल पांडे होत्या. दोघीही अतिशय उत्कृष्ठ आणि शिस्तशीर अभिनेत्री होत्या. मी त्याबाबत कुठलाही निर्णय घेत नाही. अगदी नोहा फतेहीला एका गाण्यासाठी घेण्यात आल्याचंही मला माहित नव्हतं. अभिनेता आणि अभिनेत्री यांच्यामधिल केमस्ट्री चांगली असली पाहीजे, पण याबाबतचा निर्णय माझा नसतो. तो दिग्दर्शकाचा निर्णय असतो.

तुझी अक्षयबरोबर तुलना केली जाते, त्यावर काय सांगशील?

आमची मानसिकता मिळतीजुळती आहे आणि आम्हाला देशभक्तीपर चित्रपट करायला आवडतं. मला वाटतं, जर पटकथा चांगली असेल, तर तुम्ही असे चित्रपट करावेत. अक्षय चांगले चित्रपट करत आहे आणि मी मला करावेसे वाटतात ते चित्रपट करतोय, जे खूपच छान आहे. ही चांगली गोष्ट आहे. तुम्ही असे चित्रपट करु शकत नाही जे देशभक्तीपर आहेत पण आशयघन नाहीत, असे चित्रपट चालणार देखिल नाहीत. तुम्ही बघाल की काही मोठ्या बजेटचे चित्रपटही साफ आपटले आहेत. त्यामुळे आशय महत्वाचा आहे. मला देशभक्त व्हायला आवडेल पण मला राष्ट्रवादी बनायचे नाही. देशाच्या सद्गुणांमुळे देशभक्त देशावर प्रेम करेल. राष्ट्रवादी देशातील सगळ्यासाठीच देशावर प्रेम करेल. मला देशाबाबत चिकित्सक व्हायचं आहे, तरीही देशावर माझे प्रेम आहेच.

स्वातंत्र्यदिनाच्या काही आठवणी आहेत का?

लहान असताना मला ध्वज धरायची खूप इच्छा होती, पण त्यावेळी त्याची परवानगी नव्हती. पण मला आठवतं, त्यावेळी लवकर उठून झेंडावंदनाला मी जात असे. पण माझ्यासाठी सगळ्यात आनंदाचा भाग म्हणजे फुटबॉल खेळायला जाणे, कारण तो सुट्टीचा दिवस असायचा.

बाटला हाऊस या चित्रपटासाठी केलेल्या संशोधनाबद्दल काय सांगशील?

आमच्या लेखकाने यावर चार वर्षे संशोधन केलं आणि त्यानंतर मी निखिलला यामध्ये समतोल आणण्यास सांगितले. आम्ही ५१ दिवसांत या चित्रपटाचे चित्रिकरण पुर्ण केलं. मी ते पोलिस अधिकारी, त्यांची बायको आणि कुटुंबियांना भेटलो आहे. त्यांच्या पत्नीने मला सांगितले की, ते पाच मिनिटांपेक्षा जास्त बोलत नाहीत. आम्ही ते समजून घेण्याचा प्रयत्न केला. त्यांचं त्यांच्या पत्नीवर प्रचंड प्रेम आहे. त्यांच्या आयुष्याचं द्विभाजन झालं आहे. ते अतिशय गौरवशाली अधिकारी होतेत त्यादरम्यान त्यांच्यावर आरोप झाले, त्यामुळे या प्रकरणात आपला काय दोष, असं ते विचारयचे. सध्या ते दिल्ली पोलीस सेलचे डीसीपी आहेत. त्यांच्या जीवाला सतत धोका असून, त्यांना झेड सुरक्षा देण्यात आली आहे. त्यांना अलीकडेच दुखापत झाली होती आणि ते घरी सुखरुप येतील का, याची आपल्याला खात्री वाटत नसल्याचं त्यांच्या पत्नी सांगतात. कोणीतरी या गोष्टीचं कौतुक केलं पाहीजे. त्यांची पत्नी एबीपी न्यूज चॅनेलसाठी काम करतात आणि त्यांच्या मुलांना या सगळ्यापासून दूर ठेवण्यात आलं असल्याची माहिती त्यांच्या पत्नीनं दिली.   

तुझ्या फीटनेसचे रहस्य काय आहे?

मी सिगरेट ओढत नाही, दारु पित नाही. तळलेल्या आणि गोड पदार्थांपासून दूर राहतो. लोक म्हणतात की, माझे टेस्ट बडस् मरुन जात आहेत. मला वाटतं जर तुम्हाला या आरोग्याला अपाय करणारया गोष्टी खाण्याची इच्छा होत असेल, तर तुमचे मन कमकुवत आहे. यापैकी मला कोणी काही देऊ केलं तर मी त्यांना माझा शत्रू म्हणतो. त्यांना माझं चांगलं झालेलं नको आहे. जेंव्हा तुम्ही आजारी असता, तेंव्हा फक्त कुटुंबच तुमच्याजवळ येतं. आरोग्य हीच खरी संपत्ती आहे आणि तुम्ही स्वतःचे रक्षण करायला पाहीजे

आगामी चित्रपट कोणते आहेत?

मी मुंबई सागा सुरु करत आहे आणि नंतर मी ऍटॅक विथ लक्षची निर्मीती करतोय, जो ऍक्शन चित्रपट आहे आणि सत्यमेव जयते २ हा आणखी एक चित्रपट रांगेत आहे. मी सध्या माझ्या कामाचा पूर्वी कधीही घेतला नसेल एवढा आनंद घेत आहे, आणि मला त्याचा अभिमान आहे. मी पुन्हा एकदा बॉबी ग्रेवाल आणि निखिल अडवाणीबरोबर काम करत आहे. आम्ही एकत्र सहा चित्रपट करत आहोत. माझ्या मते जेए एंटरटेंनमेंटमध्ये आम्ही असे चित्रपट करत आहोत जे करायला आम्हाला खरोखरच खूप आवडेल. मी पार्ट्यांना जात नाही आणि मी कुठल्याही कॅंपमध्येही नसतो आणि मला मित्रही नाहीत. मी माझे स्वतःचे काम करतो आणि मी बजेटशी तडजोड करत असलो, तरी मी ज्या कथा घेऊन येत आहे, त्याचा मला आनंद आहे. आमच्याबरोबर आता स्टुडीयो देखिल सहनिर्माता म्हणून काम करण्यास तयार आहेत.

पागलपंती हा चित्रपट सुध्द तु करत आहेस?

मला अनीस बज्मी हे दिग्दर्शक म्हणून खूप आवडतात आणि त्यांचे विनोदी चित्रपटही, हसवणे हि सगळ्यात अवघड शैली आहे. लोकांना हसवणं खूपच कठीण असतं. आम्ही नुकतंच त्याचं चित्रिकरण पूर्ण केलं आणि मला ते करताना खूप मजा आली.

उपराष्ट्रपतींनी बाटला हाऊस पाहिला तेव्हा त्यांची प्रतिक्रीया काय होती?

ते खूपच प्रभावित झाले आणि ते म्हणाले की मी तुमच्या दृष्टीकोनाचा आदर करतो.

Khaiyamsab is no more

Mohammed Zahur Khayyam Hashmi was a noted music composer of the Hindi film industry and was best known for his compositions in films like Umrao Jaan and Kabhi Kabhi.

He was honoured with the National Film Award for his work in Umrao Jaan. He also won a Filmfare Award for Umrao Jaan and Kabhi Kabhi. He was bestowed with the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 2007.

The Government of India honoured him with Padma Bhushan in 2011.

The composer had been hospitalised due to lung infection on July 28 after he collapsed in his house. The 92-year-old artiste was admitted to Sujoy Hospital in Juhu.


संगीतकार खय्याम यांना मुख्यमंत्र्यांची श्रद्धांजली

संगीतकार खय्याम यांच्या निधनाने अतिशय तरल आणि संगीत देणारा महान कलावंत आपण गमावला आहे , अशा शब्दात मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस यांनी श्रद्धांजली अर्पण केली आहे.

मुख्यमंत्री आपल्या शोकसंदेशात म्हणतात, खय्याम यांच्या अभिजात रचनांनी रसिकांच्या हृदयाला स्पर्श केला आहे. अनेक चिरंतन अजरामर  ठरणाऱ्या रचनांमुळे खय्याम रसिकांच्या सदैव स्मरणात  राहतील. उमरावजान,  कभी कभी, आखरी खत, रझिया सुलतान, नुरी अशा चित्रपटातील त्यांची काही गीते कालातीत आहेत. मिर्झा गालिब, मजरूह सुलतानपुरी, साहिर लुधियानवी, निदा फाजली अशा श्रेष्ठ प्रतिभावंतांच्या  महान रचनांना खय्याम यांनी पुरेपूर न्याय दिला. एक कलावंत म्हणून खय्याम जेवढे महान होते तितकेच ते एक माणूस म्हणूनही श्रेष्ठ होते. पद्मभूषण, फिल्मफेअर अनेक पुरस्कारांनी त्यांचा सार्थ गौरव झाला होता. अलिकडेच हृदयनाथ मंगेशकर यांच्या कार्यक्रमात त्यांची भेट झाली होती.  त्यावेळी प्रशंसापर आशीर्वाद लाभले होते. ही भेट अखेरची ठरल्याचे मला मनस्वी दुःख आहे.

जम्मू काश्मिर आणि लडाखला केंद्रशासित प्रदेशाचा दर्जा, केंद्रशासित प्रदेश म्हणजे काय?

केंद्र शासनाच्या थेट नियंत्रणाखाली असलेला भूप्रदेश म्हणजे केंद्रशासित प्रदेश. भारत देशामध्ये 29 राज्य आणि सात केंद्रशासित प्रदेश (Union Territory) आहेत. हे प्रदेश कोणत्याही राज्याचा भाग नसून त्यांचे प्रशासन थेट केंद्र सरकारद्वारे केले जाते. भारताचे राष्ट्रपती प्रत्येक केंद्रशासित प्रदेशासाठी प्रचालकाची नेमणूक करतात.

मोदी सरकारने मास्टरस्ट्रोक मारत जम्मू काश्मीर (Jammu and Kashmir) मधील कलम 370 (Article 370) हटवण्याचा प्रस्ताव ठेवला आहे. गृहमंत्री अमित शाह (Amit Shah) यांनी जम्मू काश्मीरमधील कलम 370 हटवण्याची शिफारस राज्यसभेत केली. इतकंच नाही तर राज्याच्या पुनर्रचनेचाही प्रस्ताव अमित शाह यांनी मांडला. यानुसार जम्मू काश्मीर आणि लडाख केंद्रशासित प्रदेश जाहीर करण्यात आलेला आहे.

भारतात आतापर्यंत सात केद्रशासित प्रदेश होते. कलम 370 हटवून जम्मू काश्मिर आणि लडाखची भर या यादीत पडणार आहे.

कलम 370 काय आहे?

भारतीय राज्यघटनेच्या कलम 370 नुसार जम्मू काश्मीरला सार्वभौम राज्य म्हणून विशेष दर्जा देण्यात आला आहे. भारतीय संविधाना अंतर्गत जम्मू काश्मीरचं स्वतंत्र संविधान आहे. या कलमानुसार भारताचा नागरिक काश्मीरमध्ये स्थायिक होऊ शकत नाही. तसंच दुसऱ्या राज्यातील नागरिक इथे संपत्ती खरेदी करु शकत नाहीत. एवढंच नाही तर जम्मू-काश्मीरमधील महिलेने इतर राज्यातील मुलाशी लग्न केलं असेल, तर त्यालाही इथे जमीन खरेदी करता येणार नाही.

कलम 370 हटवल्याने काय होईल?

जम्मू काश्मीरचा स्वायत्त राज्याचा दर्जा राहणार नाही.
एखादा नवा कायदा लागू करायला राज्य सरकारच्या परवानगीची आवश्यकता नसेल.
त्यामुळे राज्याच्या कायद्यात केंद्र सरकार हस्तक्षेप करु शकेल.
370 कलम हटवल्याने संपत्ती खरेदीचा आणि गुंतवणुकीचा मार्ग मोकळा होईल.
370 कलमांतर्गत 35 A मुळे मिळालेले अधिकारही निघून जातील.

कलम 35A काय आहे?

14 मे 1954 रोजी भारताच्या राष्ट्रपतींच्या एका आदेशानुसार कलम 370 अंतर्गत कलम 35A जोडण्यात आलं. कलम 370 मुळे जम्मू-काश्मीरला आधीच विशेष राज्याचा दर्जा प्राप्त होता. पण कलम 35A जोडल्यामुळे जम्मू-काश्मीरच्या राज्य सरकारला स्वतःचं संविधान आणि काही विशेष कायदे तयार करण्याचे अधिकार मिळाले.

भारतीय राज्यघटनेतील कलम 35-A कलम 370 शी संबंधित आहे. ज्याअंतर्गत काश्मिरींच्या अधिकारांची तरतूद करण्यात आली आहे.  जम्मू काश्मीरमधून कलम 35A रद्द केल्यास त्या राज्याला देण्यात आलेला विशेष राज्याचा दर्जा संपेल. जम्मू काश्मीर विधानसभेला स्थानिक नागरिक परिभाषा ठरवण्याचा अधिकार या कलम 35 ए मुळे मिळतो. त्यामुळे स्थानिक नागरिकांना काही विशेष अधिकार मिळतात. राज्यात मालमत्ता खरेदी करणे, सरकारी नोकऱ्या, स्कॉलरशिपसह अन्य योजना मिळतात.

Sonakshi Sinha Defines Versatility With The Most Interesting Line-Up of Films

We all know how much everyone has loved the trailer of ‘Khandaani Shafakhana’which is a story of ‘Baby Bedi’ a.k.a Sonakshi Sinha; where she is urging people to talk about sex in order to save her ancestral sex-clinic. The trailer is extremely hilarious and also, it’s one of its kind as, this is the first time where in a movie based on a topic like sex-education, a female lead has taken the responsibility of making people talk about it by saying, #BaatTohKaro!

We must say, when it comes to choosing bold characters, there’s no one who can do it like our beloved Sona! Ever since she made her debut in Dabangg, she has been experimental with her roles. Even though now Dabangg has become a huge franchise, Sonakshi’s character graph in the film changed in both the parts. Be it Akira, Holiday or Force 2, Sonakshi Sinha loves to play a strong female lead who likes to live life on her own terms and is a trained fighter.

While we are talking about strong female characters, Sonakshi dared to go off-beat as well, because in Noor and Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi, her roles were a bit on the goofy side, but certainly made sure that they made an impact. When it comes to playing content oriented cinema with complex characters, Sona had us head over heels in love with her in films like Lootera.

She didn’t even shy away from playing the villain in Ittefaq and now she’s all set to entertain us with the most interesting line-up of her films in the upcoming couple of years. Apart from ‘Khandaani Shafakhana’, Sona is returning as the lovely Rajjo in Dabangg 3. Along with that, she is also playing a lead role in a multi-starrer ensemble cast film, Mission Mangal, where she becomes an Astronaut on-screen! Sona is also starring in Bhuj, alongside Ajay Devgn which is based on the condition of Bhuj, Rajasthan during the 1971 Indo-Pak war.

What is it that this versatile woman can’t do? We just hope that she keeps on entertaining us with her interesting choice of characters for many, many years to come!

Mentel Hai Kya been postponed

To whomsoever it may concern,

A lot is being reported about Mental Hai Kya clashing with another film at the box office on July 26. The shift in the release date is a decision taken after the recommendations from the distributors, trade analysts and top research team, keeping in mind the releases a week before and after this date.
We have been advised to shift the release of our movie to July 26, purely for the business prospects.

On knowing, that there is already a movie scheduled for a release on that date, we did it all in our purview to ensure that there will be no mud slinging and it will be dignified release. We stand by assuring that to all other parties.

This is a call taken by Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Motion Pictures considering better prospects for the movie at the box office and no other parties were involved.

Balaji Telefilms condemn the reports being circulated and stand by that Mental Hai Kya releasing on 26th July is purely a business decision made by Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms.

Vishesh Bhatt and Usha Laxman take the works of RK Laxman (The Common Man) Digital

Vishesh Bhatt is all set to produce a web series based on R K Laxman’s Book “Servants Of India”. This book is a combination of work of fiction and a few incidents Laxman experienced himself. The story of various characters with his special twist will be something to look out for.

Recently *PM Narendra Modi* in Mumbai said that he was happy to see the works of RK Laxman be brought into the digital world. He was really happy to see RK Laxman's family and Vishesh Bhatt taking this idea forward.

*RK IPR MANAGEMENT PVT LTD,* a company founded by R.K. Laxman, believes in Vishesh Bhatt and his work. They have entrusted it to him with complete freedom as they think that he will give his work a young view by keeping the spirit and brilliance of R K Laxman alive.

The digital audience will experience a social commentary and satire of RK Laxman brought on screen by the best contemporary team of talent.

In this series every character has a certain idiosyncrasy and Laxman has used his trademark wit to fictionalise real world people into characters with gripping twists. Vishesh Bhatt visions to adapt the characters with a new age and quirky treatment, something he's sure Laxman would have appreciated.

R.K.Laxman found this world to be vulnerable and also strange at times. It would be interesting to watch the eccentricity of ‘Servants of India’ brought to life with this series. This will be the first time that his work will be turned into a web series.

This book has some unpublished material that will also be seen for the first time adapted in this series.

It would be a satirical drama on the casual class prejudices we all have in India, punched with the gripping absurdity of situations that have occurred in many of our own lives or with our friends. It will get you addicted.

Tannishtha Chatterjee's 'Roam Rome Mein' to release next year

Tannishtha Chatterjee who has acted in several Indian and International films, debuts as a director with the Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer 'Roam Rome Mein', which is set to hit the theater next year, 2019.

The film is shot across Rome, the movie also features Italian actress Valentina Corti, Francesco Apolloni and Andrea Scarduzio. The film is produced by Eros Entertainment and Rising Star Entertainment.

DIL MEIN HO TUM: EPIC BAPPI LAHIRI CLASSIC RECOMPOSED FOR “CHEAT INDIA”


Armaan Malik completes a hat-trick by singing his third number for Emraan Hashmi, after two chartbusters


After “Daaru Wargi”, the explosive promotional number with Guru Randhawa, the producers of “Cheat India” are set to reveal “Dil Mein Ho Tum”, the first potential chartbuster from the film, on 26th December.


The quintessential romantic track, a song genre that’s popularly associated with Hashmi, is a re-composition of the epic Bappi Lahiri number in the Vinod Khanna-Anita Raj starrer “Satyamev Jayate” (1987). This was, in turn, based on Bappi da’s legendary Bengali track, “Chirodini”,  rendered by Kishore Kumar in “Amar Sangi” (1986).


32 years later, Rochak Kohli has re-composed the track retaining just the original hook. It has been written by Manoj Muntashir, and rendered by Armaan Malik, whose previous tracks for Hashmi, “Bol Do Na Zara” and “Main Rahoon Ya Na Rahoon” were colossal hits. In the film (and song), Hashmi has been paired opposite debutant Shreya Dhanwanthary.


Said Bhushan Kumar, “Emraan, Armaan and romance are a winning combination. This is not just another recreation. Rochak (Kohli) has beautifully recomposed the original in a contemporary manner giving it a major shelf life. Fans of romantic melodies are going to love it!”


Said Armaan Malik, “I am excited to be collaborating with Rochak for the first time. Emraan and I come together for the third time after two hits. Interestingly, most of my recreations have been Kishore da’s songs, so whenever I sing a new version of his songs I feel like his blessings are upon me. I have fond memories of this track. When I was a contestant at Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, Bappi da would keep humming this song and somewhere it has stayed with me ever since.”


“Cheat India” has been produced by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series, Tanuj Garg and Atul Kasbekar’s Ellipsis Entertainment, and Parveen Hashmi’s Emraan Hashmi Films. It releases worldwide on January 25, 2019.
