Armaan Malik completes a hat-trick by singing his third number for Emraan Hashmi, after two chartbusters


After “Daaru Wargi”, the explosive promotional number with Guru Randhawa, the producers of “Cheat India” are set to reveal “Dil Mein Ho Tum”, the first potential chartbuster from the film, on 26th December.


The quintessential romantic track, a song genre that’s popularly associated with Hashmi, is a re-composition of the epic Bappi Lahiri number in the Vinod Khanna-Anita Raj starrer “Satyamev Jayate” (1987). This was, in turn, based on Bappi da’s legendary Bengali track, “Chirodini”,  rendered by Kishore Kumar in “Amar Sangi” (1986).


32 years later, Rochak Kohli has re-composed the track retaining just the original hook. It has been written by Manoj Muntashir, and rendered by Armaan Malik, whose previous tracks for Hashmi, “Bol Do Na Zara” and “Main Rahoon Ya Na Rahoon” were colossal hits. In the film (and song), Hashmi has been paired opposite debutant Shreya Dhanwanthary.


Said Bhushan Kumar, “Emraan, Armaan and romance are a winning combination. This is not just another recreation. Rochak (Kohli) has beautifully recomposed the original in a contemporary manner giving it a major shelf life. Fans of romantic melodies are going to love it!”


Said Armaan Malik, “I am excited to be collaborating with Rochak for the first time. Emraan and I come together for the third time after two hits. Interestingly, most of my recreations have been Kishore da’s songs, so whenever I sing a new version of his songs I feel like his blessings are upon me. I have fond memories of this track. When I was a contestant at Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, Bappi da would keep humming this song and somewhere it has stayed with me ever since.”


“Cheat India” has been produced by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series, Tanuj Garg and Atul Kasbekar’s Ellipsis Entertainment, and Parveen Hashmi’s Emraan Hashmi Films. It releases worldwide on January 25, 2019.

Danny Denzongpa to play Ghaus Khan in Manikarnika

Danny Denzongpa will be seen playing Ghaus Khan in Kangana Ranaut’s Manikarnika !

Legendary and charismatic actor Danny Denzongpa has been doing very selective films in Bollywood of late. He was last seen in the film ‘’Bioscopewala’’ which had released in start of 2018. Now he will be seen in the film ‘’Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’’ portraying the character of Ghaus Khan who would be the commander of Manikarnika’s army and like a father figure to Rani LaxmiBai in the movie where Kangana Ranaut who would be playing the titular role of Rani LaxmiBai in the film would fondly call him 'Ghaus Baba'.

Ghaus Khan will be seen as an advisor to the Queen of Jhansi Manikarnika in the film. Jisshu SenGupta looks like a royal king as Maharaja Gangadhar Rao in Manikarnika

Actor Jisshu Sengupta who has impressed the critics and audiences with his acting and performance in Raees (2016), is all set to portray the character of Rani Lakshmibai’s husband Maharaja Gangadhar Rao in Kangana Ranaut starrer historical biopic period drama Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi. The movie showcases the entire story and life of our country’s first only female warrior queen Rani LaxmiBai which will be played by national award winning actress Kangana Ranaut and how it symbolizes her braveness and valour for our country’s freedom even today.

The actor who has always dabbled his hands and experimented in his roles right from playing a vicious dacoit in Srijit Mukherjee’s RajKahini to a half-naked sadhu in Srijit Mukherjee’s Ek Je Chhilo Raja (EJCR) surely looks magnificent as a king in the film.

Actor Jisshu Sengupta’s look as royal king Maharaja Gangadhar Rao is out and he literally looks every bit of magnificent and imperial in it.

Jisshu’s character in Manikarnika is one of the lesser known kings of his era and time and had immense interest for performing in arts, theatre and music. He was also very liberal and a loving husband who always was supportive towards Manikarnika and gave unconditional moral support to especially her warrior side.

To profess his love for his wife Manikarnika, he had built the largest library of that time in India inside the palace because Manikarnika loved reading books.

According to Jisshu, it was exciting and challenging for him to portray this role. ‘’Every aspect of shooting has been special for me. I was essaying the character of a Sadhu in Srijit’s EJCR and also a king in Manikarnika. It was hard to keep switching roles. But when it comes to Gangadhar, I enjoyed the depiction. It feels good when mainstream cinema acknowledges regional actors like me for roles that are generally played by more commercial Bollywood actors’’, the actor told us.

Produced by Zee Studios in association with Kamal Jain and Nishant Pitti, the film also marks the big transition and bollywood debut of TV sensation Ankita Lokhande who will be seen portraying the character of JhalkariBai who is queen’s closest aide and confidant in the film.

There’s a stellar ensemble cast that includes Atul Kulkarni as Tatya Tope, Suresh Oberoi as Bajirao 2, and Danny Denzongpa as Ghulam Ghaus Khan among others. The film is scheduled to release on January 25th 2019 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu simultaneously.

भारतीय संस्कृतीचे चित्रमय दर्शन, चित्रपटाची दृश्ये आणि करण जोहर- अक्षय कुमार यांच्या खुमासदार संभाषणाने रंगला “इफ्फी 2018” चा उद्‌घाटन सोहळा

चित्रपट रसिक ज्याची आतुरतेने वाट बघत असतात असा प्रतिष्ठित भारतीय आंतरराष्ट्रीय चित्रपट महोत्सव इफ्फी 2018 चे आज दिमाखदार सोहळ्यात पणजी येथे उद्‌घाटन झाले.

केंद्रीय माहिती आणि प्रसारण राज्यमंत्री कर्नल राज्यवर्धन सिंह राठोड आणि गोव्याच्या गव्हर्नर मृदुला सिन्हा यांच्यासह अनेक मान्यवरांच्या उपस्थितीत दीप प्रज्वलनाने या महोत्सवाचे उद्‌घाटन झाले. इफ्फीचे हे 49 वे वर्ष असून या कार्यक्रमाची शोभा वाढवण्यासाठी अनेक मान्यवरांसह चित्रपट सृष्टीतल्या अनेक दिग्गजांनी सोहळ्याला हजेरी लावली होती.

भारतातल्या युवकांमध्ये प्रचंड गुणवत्ता दडलेली असून इफ्फीसारखे महोत्सव युवकांमधल्या गुणवत्तेला आणि कौशल्याला वाव देणारे उत्तम व्यासपीठ आहे असे मत केंद्रीय माहिती आणि प्रसारण राज्यमंत्री कर्नल राज्यवर्धन सिंह राठोड यांनी  इफ्फीदरम्यान व्यक्त केले. या महोत्सवामुळे आंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तरावरच्या चित्रपट निर्माते आणि दिग्दर्शकांनाही भारतीय चित्रपटसृष्टी जवळून बघण्याची संधी मिळते तसेच भारतीय कलावंतानांही जागतिक चित्रपटसृष्टीचा परिचय होतो असे ते पुढे म्हणाले.

गोव्याच्या राज्यपाल मृदुला सिन्हा यांनी इफ्फीसाठी आलेल्या सर्व मान्यवरांचे गोवा सरकारच्या वतीने स्वागत केले. गोव्याचे सार्वजनिक मंत्री सुदिन ढवळीकर यांनी आपल्या भाषणात आंतरराष्ट्रीय चित्रपट निर्मात्यांना चित्रपट निर्मितीसाठी गोव्यात येण्याचे आमंत्रण दिले.

माहिती आणि प्रसारण मंत्रालयाचे सचिव अमित खरे यांनी स्वागतपर भाषणात सांगितले की, मनोरंजन क्षेत्राच्या विकासाचा वेग 27 टक्के असून या क्षेत्रामुळे महसूल आणि विविध माध्यमांतर्गत रोजगार निर्मिती होत असते. त्यांनी 49 व्या आंतरराष्ट्रीय चित्रपट महोत्सवाचा इस्रायल हा भागीदार देश असून यावर्षी झारखंड हे विशेष राज्य म्हणून निश्चित केले आहे. त्यांनी सांगितले की, चित्रपट महोत्सवाद्वारे जागतिक पातळीवरील विविध चित्रपटांचे चांगले संदेश समाजापर्यंत पोहचले जातात. त्यांनी प्रामुख्याने ‘टॉयलेट-एक प्रेम कथा’ आणि ‘पॅडमॅन’ या चित्रपटांची नांवे घेतली.

या उद्‌घाटन सोहळ्यात चित्रपट सुविधा कार्यालयाच्या (फिल्म फॅसिलीटेशन ऑफिस) वेब पोर्टलचं कर्नल राज्यवर्धन राठोड यांच्या हस्ते उद्‌घाटन करण्यात आले. 2014 साली एनएफडीसीने हे कार्यालय सुरु केले असून याद्वारे भारतात चित्रीकरण करण्यासाठी उत्सुक असलेल्या परदेशी चित्रपट निर्मात्यांना विविध परवानग्या आणि सेवा सहज उपलब्ध होतात. विविध राज्यांमध्येही चित्रपट सुविधा कार्यालये सुरु करण्यात आली असून त्यातून चित्रपट निर्मात्यांना चित्रीकरणाची प्रक्रिया, चित्रीकरणासाठी स्थळं शोधण्यात सहकार्य तसेच चित्रपटांसाठी दिली जाणारी अनुदानं, सवलती यांची माहिती या कार्यालयात दिली जाते. ही सर्व माहिती आता पोर्टलवरही उपलब्ध असेल.

‘द अस्पर्न पेपर्स’ या चित्रपटाच्या वर्ल्ड प्रिमियरने महोत्सवाचे उद्‌घाटन झाले. या चित्रपटाच्या कलाकारांसह चित्रपटाचा चमू यावेळी उपस्थित होता.

गायिका शिल्पा रावने विविध भाषांमधील सुमधुर गीतं सादर केली. त्यानंतर मुंबईच्या आदिती देशपांडे यांच्या चमूने फ्लाय जिमनॅस्टिकच्या चित्तवेधक मुद्रा सादर केल्या.

त्यानंतर चित्रपट निर्माता दिग्दर्शक करण जोहर यांनी राज्यवर्धन राठोड आणि अभिनेता अक्षय कुमार यांच्याशी अनौपचारिक गप्पा मारल्या. या तिघांनीही यावेळी इफ्फी, चित्रपट क्षेत्र, क्रीडा क्षेत्र आणि चित्रपटातून दिले जाणारे सामाजिक संदेश अशा विषयावर रंजक शब्दात आपली मतं मांडली.

एखाद्या देशातल्या सर्वोत्कृष्ट कलाकृती आणि त्या देशाचे योगदान दर्शवणाऱ्या चित्रपटांचा ‘कंट्री ऑफ फोकस’ मध्ये समावेश केला जातो. 49 व्या इफ्फीमध्ये इस्रायल हा देश कंट्री ऑफ फोकस राहणार आहे. मुंबईतील इस्रायलच्या वाणिज्य दुतावासाच्या सहकार्याने दहा चित्रपटांना  कंट्री फोकस पॅकेजसाठी निवडले गेले आहेत.

इफ्फी 2018 मध्ये भारताच्या एका राज्यावर आणि त्यातल्या कला आणि संस्कृतीवर प्रकाश टाकणाऱ्या चित्रपटांचा ‘स्टेट फोकस’ या विभागाअंतर्गत प्रथमच समावेश करण्यात आला आहे. 49 व्या इफ्फीमध्ये ‘स्टेट ऑफ फोकस’ म्हणून झारखंड या राज्याची निवड करण्यात आली असून महोत्सवाचा भाग म्हणून 24 नोव्हेंबरला झारखंड दिन साजरा करण्यात येणार आहे. झारखंडला मनोरंजन क्षेत्राचे केंद्र म्हणून विकसित करण्यासाठी तिथल्या सरकारने अनेक योजना राबवल्या असून झारखंडमध्ये चित्रीकरण करण्यावर अनेक सवलती तसेच अनुदानही दिले जाणार आहेत, अशी माहिती झारखंडचे मुख्यमंत्री रघुवर दास यांनी यावेळी आपल्या संदेशात दिली. झारखंड पॅकेजमधील चित्रपटांमध्ये ‘एम एस धोनी-द अनटोल्ड स्टोरी’, ‘डेथ इन गंज’, ‘रांची डायरी’, ‘बेगम जान’ यांचा समावेश आहे.

चित्रपट सृष्टीत लोकप्रिय असलेल्या या सोहळ्यासाठी अनेक सिनेकलावंतही आवर्जून उपस्थित होते. अक्षय कुमार, करण जोहर, बोनी कपूर, सुभाष घई, रमेश सिप्पी, मधुर भांडारकर, ऋषिता भट, फ्रेंच दिग्दर्शक ज्युलियन लिन्सेड आणि सिंगापूरचे चीन यान असे नामवंत यावेळी उपस्थित होते. अभिनेत्री मंदीरा बेदी आणि अमित साध यांनी आपल्या रंजक शैलीत उद्‌घाटन सोहळ्याचे सूत्रसंचालन केले. इफ्फीचे संचालक चैतन्य प्रसाद यांनी मान्यवरांचे आभार मानले.

आजपासून सुरु झालेल्या 49 व्या भारतीय आंतरराष्ट्रीय चित्रपट महोत्सवाची पणजी येथे 28 नोव्हेंबरला ‘सिल्ड लिप्स’ या जर्मन चित्रपटाच्या वर्ल्ड प्रिमियरने इफ्फी 2018 ची सांगता होईल.

पार्श्वभूमी :-

49 व्या इफ्फीत अलिकडच्या काळातल्या सर्वोत्तम आंतरराष्ट्रीय चित्रपटांची पर्वणी रसिकांना अनुभवता येणार आहे. रेट्रोस्पेक्टिव्ह, मास्टर क्लास, इन कनर्व्हसेशन सेशन्स, होमेज, इंडियन पॅनोरमा, इंटरनॅशनल कॉम्पिटेशन यासारख्या विशेष विभागात मागच्या काळातले उत्तम जागतिक चित्रपट पाहायला मिळणार आहेत. सृजनशील मनाच्या युवकांना संवाद साधण्यासाठी, अनुभवण्यासाठी आणि शिकण्यासाठी मंच मिळावा हा याचा उद्देश आहे.

वैविध्यपूर्ण विषय हाताळणारे चित्रपट या महोत्सवात सादर होणार आहेत.  इफ्फी 2018 मध्ये 68 देशातले 212 चित्रपट दाखवण्यात येणार असून यामध्ये दोन वर्ल्ड प्रिमियर, 16 ॲकॅडमी ॲवार्डसाठी नामनिर्देशित चित्रपट आणि  प्रचलित नसलेल्या भारतीय भाषेतल्या सहा चित्रपटांचा यात समावेश आहे. आंतरराष्ट्रीय स्पर्धा विभागात 15 चित्रपटांचा समावेश असून यातले तीन भारतीय चित्रपट सुवर्ण आणि रौप्य मयुरासाठीच्या स्पर्धेत आहेत. या विभागात 22 देशातले निर्मिती आणि सहनिर्मिती केलेले चित्रपट आहेत. पोलिश निर्देशक रॉबर्ट ग्लिन्सकी यांच्या अध्यक्षतेखालच्या आंतरराष्ट्रीय  स्पर्धा ज्युरी मंडळात अॅड्रियन सितारू, अ‍ॅना फेरायोलिओ रॅवेल, टॉम फिट्ज पॅट्रिक आणि भारतीय सदस्य राकेश ओमप्रकाश मेहरा यांचा समावेश आहे.

यावर्षी इफ्फीने इंटरनॅशनल कॉन्सिल फॉर फिल्म, ऑडिओ व्हिज्युअल कम्युनिकेशन (आयसीएफटी) पॅरिस बरोबर, विशेष आयसीएफटी पारितोषिक सादर करण्यासाठी समन्वय साधला असून युनेस्कोच्या आदर्शांना प्रोत्साहन देणाऱ्या चित्रपटाला युनेस्को गांधी पारितोषिकाने गौरवण्यात येणार असून याचा आयसीएफटी पारितोषिकात समावेश आहे. यावर्षी या पारितोषिकासाठी 10 चित्रपटांमधून निवड करण्यात येणार असून यामध्ये दोन भारतीय चित्रपटांचा समावेश आहे.

'होमेजेस्' विभागाअंतर्गत हिंदी चित्रपट क्षेत्रातील दिवंगत व्यक्तींना श्रद्धांजली वाहिली जाईल.  यावर्षी शशी कपूर, श्रीदेवी,  एम. करुणानिधी व चित्रपट निर्मात्या कल्पना लाजमी यांचे चित्रपट दाखवून त्यांना श्रद्धांजली अर्पण करण्यात येईल.

49 व्या भारतीय आंतरराष्ट्रीय चित्रपट महोत्सवात इंडियन पॅनोरमा 2018 मध्ये फिचर (कथाधारित) आणि नॉन-फीचर (कथाबाह्य) चित्रपट दाखवण्यात येणार आहेत. फीचर फिल्म ज्यूरींनी शाजी एन. करुण दिग्दर्शित चित्रपट 'ओलू' भारतीय पॅनोरामा 2018 विभागाच्या शुभारंभाचा चित्रपट म्हणून निवडला आहे तर कथाबाह्य चित्रपट म्हणून आदित्य सुहास जांभळे यांनी दिग्दर्शित केलेल्या 'खर्वस' या चित्रपटाची निवड करण्यात आली आहे.

Fox Star Studios and Akshay Kumar partner for slate of 3 films

The synergy will see an array of distinct entertainers over 3 titles with Akshay Kumar in the lead, to be jointly produced by Fox Star Studios and Cape Of Good Films. The first film to come off this partnership will be India’s first space film, Mission Mangal, which is in collaboration with R Balki & the film will be directed by Jagan Shakti. The shoot for Mission Mangal commences in mid November.

TO INTERACT WITH PEOPLE

South superstar and actor-politician Pawan Kalyan took a train journey from Vijayawada to Tuni in Andhra Pradesh’s East Godavari district, meeting lakhs of followers along the way.

The purpose behind this journey was to have a series of interactions and meetings with people representing various sections in the society. Throughout the way, Pawan Kalyan met and discussed issues with the locals, including mango farmers, sugarcane farmers, textile labourers, porters and many others.

“It initiative was taken primarily to understand the issues on the ground and create awareness,” says Kalyan. “Our main aim is to have transparency in the system and work. We will make institutional change in the state,” he adds.

The train journey was symbolic in a way – it gave Pawan Kalyan the opportunity to reach out to the people. The journey ended in Tuni where lakhs of fans and followers had assembled to witness Pawan Kalyan address a public meeting.

Sapna Chaudhary is touted to play the role of main Protagonist’s in the film. The Story of DOSTI KE SIDE EFFECTSS (DKSE) is a complete family movie based on contemporary perspective. The lives of four friends intertwined to form the story of the movie and as the movie progresses, different facets of life come out to the audience. DKSE is the true reflection of life where we have love, hatred, betrayal, promise, drama, happiness and yes…Friendship! The music for the film will be scored by Altaaf sayyed and Manny Verma. The movie is slated to be released on 14th December 2018.

‘Rashtraputra’, written and directed by military school student and filmmaker Aazaad, is a film based on the life and thoughts of the greatest revolutionary Chandrashekhar Azad. The film shows Aazaad essaying the role of Chandrashekhar Azad along with various other film dignitaries including Aryan Vaidya, Achint Kaur, and Raza Murad. Bappi Lahiri, Mika Singh and Palak Mucchal have lent their beautiful voices to the film. With high voltage drama and entertainment values for the youth as well as the enlightened audience of twenty first century, the film also has a motivational message.
