ACE CHOREOGRAPHER GANESH ACHARYA DEBUTS AS A LEADING MAN IN 'DEHATI DISCO'

The portly man with the pelvic moves who has choreographed more than 300 songs and directed two films popularly known as Masterjee in the film industry aka Ganesh Acharya is all set to debut as a hero in the film 'Dehati Disco'. At the trailer launch of the film in a suburban studio , he spoke to the media a length.This is how the gabfest went.

How was 'Dehati Disco' conceived?

The director of the film Manoj Sharma had this script in mind for me and he approached me with the project and since I knew him from before having choreographed a number of music videos, I felt comfortable and agreed to star in the project.

You are a director yourself having made acclaimed films like Swamy and Money Hai to Honey Hai, was it easier for you to act before thecamera?

I have been wanting to be a hero since my childhood and I have acted in some popular songs and the camera makes love to me and I was fully confident before the camera albiet with director Manoj Sharma's help.

What is the USP of the film?

The film has some wonderful songs and music by famed percussionist Sivamani who makes his debut as a music composer and Iam proud that I could dance to his songs.

 What does dance mean to you?
Dance is like a prayer and religion to me and there are so many forms of dance  like western, desi, classical. disco, breakdance,twist. folk dances, rap,fox trot, jive, cabaret,  and so many others that I could entirely make a film on dance.

What is the secret of your excellent tuning with Govinda?
Govinda is a brilliant dancer and I have choreographed many hit songs with him like 'What is your Mobile Number, etc and he is like a best friend to me and he is my mate and we share a terrific rapport  which reflects on the screen.

What is the film all about?
It  is about me and a small boy and their relationship. Manoj Joshi and Ravi Kisan are also in the cast. The story screenplay is mine. The rest you can watch it on the big screen when the film releases on May 20.

Manoj Bajpayee to began shooting for Gulmohar

 Manoj Bajpayee’s next Gulmohar with Veteran actress Sharmila Tagore, and Amol Paleka.

The shooting of Fox Star Studios, Chalkboard Entertainment, and Autonomous Works’ Gulmohar is now complete and it’s slated to release in August 2022 on Disney+ Hotstar OTT platform .The film is directed by Rahul Chittella, it is written by Rahul Chittella and Arpita Mukherjee. The film’s original music is composed by Siddhartha Khosla .

The film's incredible cast includes 3 Times National Award &  Padma-Shri -winning actor Manoj Bajpayee, Veteran actress Sharmila Tagore, and Amol Palekar along with Suraj Sharma (Life of Pi) and Simran Rishi Bagga in pivotal roles. The film revolves around the multi-generation Batra family who are all set to move out of their 34-year-old family home. Manoj Bajpayee leading the cast is doing a family drama after many years !! Manoj Bajpayee is choosing all his films carefully and trying out different genres all the time refusing to stick to any one kind of film and story! Rahul chittella was an assistant and collaborated with mira nair for 10 years!

Manoj Bajpayee also shared his excitement about starring in Gulmohar “For me, there were many reasons to sign the film, firstly the narrative of the film was extremely candid and relatable. The teaser of Two Sisters and a Husband is out and it looks intense

After Haraamkhor, Two Sisters and a Husband is the new feature film directed by Shlok Sharma.

The film is all set to make its World Premier at the prestigious Tribeca Film Festival in the category of International Narrative Competition. The Tribeca Film Festival was founded by Robert De Niro and Jane Rosenthal in 2001 to spur the economic and cultural revitalization of lower Manhattan following the attacks on the World Trade Center. Now in its 19th year, Tribeca is one of the most prestigious film festivals in America and across the globe in the same league as Cannes Film Festival, Toronto Film Festival, Sundance Film Festivals and likes. 

Notably, Two Sisters And A Husband is the only Indian film at this festival this year, that too, in competition.

Two Sisters and a Husband is a delicate story that narrates the tale of two sisters who land themselves in a complicated space in love, and marriage. Featuring Avani Rai, Dinkar Sharma, Manya Grover, the teaser gives us a glimpse into the lives of these people and the complications that surround them in a twisted space. Shlok has co-written the film with Shilpa Srivastava and is produced by Fundamental Pictures along with his partner Navin Shetty.

Talking about the teaser and the movie, director and writer Shlok says, ‘The film is catching these characters at a particular time in their lives and then seeing them through it. And in the teaser, the idea is for people to see the tip of the iceberg.'

Shlok has been a long time associate of Anurag Kashyap was also the Second Unit Director of Gangs Of Wasseypur.

 ANEES BAZMEE SHIFTS TO A HORROR COMEDY WITH BHOOLBHULLAIYA-2!

We are seated in the plush office of T-SERIES for the interviews pertaining to BhoolBhullaiya-2 and the director of the film Anees Bazmee walks in to have a chat with the gathered media. Over to Anees Bazmee.

You have made many genre of films but BhoolBhullaiya- 2 is your first horror comedy.
Yes. I had liked the original Bhool Bhullaiya and when I was offered the sequel I immediately said yes and started scripting the film and stars like Kartik Aryan and Kiara Advani were signed and after a long shooting schedule the film is ready for release.

Is the story akin to the first part?
Not at all. Its totally a fresh script but some of the characters are the  same and amongst the cast only Rajpal Yadav has been repeated.

How was it like working with the cast?
Kartik Aryan is very talented and hardworking and works on his character really well. Kiara Advani knows a thing or two about filmmaking and she is a natural before the camera and gives her okay shots very fast. Tabu of course is an accomplished actress and has given an impressive performance.

The film was delayed a bit.
Yes due to the pandemic we lost many dates of our stars and it was a long wait to get the combined dates of the stars.Inspite of that we completed the film on-time.

Do you personally like horror films?
Yes. I used to listen to the horror stories my mother and my grandmother narrated to me and in the nights I was very terrified of such stories in my-childhood. But I even now like to watch horror films.

What about the music of the film?
The score by Preetam and Tanishq Bagchi is excellent  and the songs are chartbusters.

What next?
I have my 2006 film Naam previously named Benaam starring Ajay Devgn ,Bhoomika Chawla and Sameera Reddy  ready for release . It is an Indian version of Bourne Identity and Bourne Supremacy.  It was produced by Dinesh Patel who passed away recently and gave the first break to Ajay Devgn in 'Phool Aur Kaante'.

KIARA ADVANI IS THE HEARTTHROB IN BHOOLBHULLAIYYA-2!

She is wearing a green Blazer and white top and without any war-paint she settles down for an interview armed with a cup of coffee and Biscuits. An tete a Tete with the tall and delicatessen star of hits like Kabir Singh and Good Newz.

Do you like horror films?
Yes. But this one is a horror comedy and I had seen parts and bits of the earlier Bhoolbhullaiya and I always wanted to star in the sequel and when this offer of Bhoolbhullaiya-2 came to me I jumped at the offer and the film started rolling.

Do you read the genre before signing a film?
No. I go by the script of the film and if I like the film and the maker I sign the dotted line.

How was it like shooting the film?
It was great and Anees Sir and Kartik are absolute fun-sters and are always making you laugh on the sets and we all used to have dinner and lunch together and there were no vanity vans which everyone rushed to after work.

And your co-stars?
Kartik has no hassles and is easy to work with and Tabu Ma'm is such a senior but she always used to guide us and make us comfortable. We had other great comic actors like Sanjay Mishra, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav in the cast.

Any problems during the shoot?
We had almost completed the film before the pandemic and things went awry making the film go beyond its shooting schedule.

Even Dhakkad is releasing on May 20?
But I wish Kangana Ranaut the best and hope both the films are super hits.

 KARTIK ARYAN STEPS INTO AKSHAY KUMARS SHOES IN BHOOLBHULLAIYA-2!

The tall lad with fuzz walks in casually dressed in tee and pants and Kartik Aryan commands attention as he walks into the room. The posse of media people gather round him to grill him regarding his forthcoming film BhoolBhulaiiya-2. Here is how the chatathon went.

Was it difficult for you to do Akshayes role in the original?
Akshayes is a superstar and I can't be as good as him but I have tried to do my best in interpreting the role and hopefully the audience likes it.

Was Anees Bazmee, a comedy specialist the reason for doing this film?

It was. But he has done films of all genres, be it comedy, social, love stories, thrillers, etc and this horror comedy genre was new to both of us and we worked hard on it.

Do you like to see horror films?
Yes. Horror films are a favorite genre of mine though this one is a horror comedy I had a great time working on the film.

How has your journey been so far?
It has been great. I started with the Showman Subhash Ghai and later had some small films like Akashvaani and then Luv Ranjan made me a star with his films like Sonu Aur Titu ki Sweety and Pyaar Ka Punchnaama and its sequel.

You recently had some misunderstandings with Karan Johar and Dharma Productions.
It was misinterpreted and blown out of proportion and people made a mole out of a molehill.

What next?
I Have Sameer Vidhwans Satyanarayan Ki,Katha , Captain India and Freddy coming up.

RAKUL PREET SINGH IN A TURBULENT FLIGHT! Rakul Preet Singh is an Indian actress and model who works mainly in the south Indian film industry. She has also appeared in some Tamil, Bollywood and Kannada movies. . She made her film debut with Kannada movie 'Gilli' directed by Raghava Loki in 2009. I play a co-pilot to Ajay Devgn's piloted flight which suffers unforeseen turbulence and I and Ajay try to save as many passengers we can .Its the best role I could get and to work with two superstar icons like Amit sir and Ajay sir was indeed a God given opportunity for me to learn something from these two extremely talented actors. How did you find Bachchan saab and Ajay Sir as actors and Ajay as a director? Bachchan Saab is very cool and I have been a huge fan of his right from my childhood and it was a  dream come true for me to act with him. He used to pamper me with chocolates and biscuits which I didn't even touch to store in my kitchen as an hallowed prize and I used to tell my mother that these biscuits were given to me by Amitjee. He made me completely at ease in front of the camera. Ajay was the director as well and he had to organize a multi camera set up with seven cameras inside the planes cockpit itself. He was also wonderful as an actor. How did you prepare yourself for your role? We had workshops conducted in the cockpit of a stationary plane with a real pilot to guide us about the terminology and the usage of the instruments in the plane. The other help to guide was Devgn sir himself who had a complete bound script so that we can work together in tandem. Would you still consider  doing films in South? If I get a good offer I would still consider it in-spite of me now concentrating more in Hindi films. I listen to good scripts and my brother looks after my work. Your favorites among your contemporaries. Aalia Bhatt is someone I adore and Anushka Sharma who too is doing good work. The directors on your wishlist. I would like to work with all good directors.                              AJAY DEVGN FLIES HIGH IN 'RUNWAY-34

He sails through the hotel lobby of a suburban five star hotel dressed in black to kill,  with a lot of fuzz and settles down to spar with the journos who are clearly in awe of the superstar. Over to Ajay who

settles down after lighting his cigarette.

Is it difficult to act in and direct the same film?

Yes.Sort of. Directing the shoot calls for a lot of meticulous planning and camerawork  but acting is much more easier than direction but we had the complete script ready beforehand and my esteemed

co-stars like Superstar Amitabh Bachchan and the young firebrand actor Rakul Preet Singh were already experienced as Rakul has acted in more than 30 Telugu films and with me in De De Pyaar De and Big B has acted with me in films like Khakee, Major Saab, Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiy on ands I have seen him since my childhood and he always makes his co-stars comfortable and is so professional that he arrives on the sets two hours before the scheduled shoot. And we had a lot of workshops done inside a stationery cockpit to understand the technicalities of air flying and we had a professional air pilot to guide us through. Even Rakul has done a fantastic job.

What is Runway 34 all about?

Its a first aviation thriller ever to be shot in India. Inspired by true incidents, "Runway 34" revolves around Captain Vikrant Khanna played by me , a flying prodigy, whose flight takes a mysterious

course after take-off from an international destination but he becomes a hero after saving a lot of passengers and his co-pilot played by Rakul Preet Singh.

The film was earlier titled as Mayday.

Yes. But majority of masses couldn't understand the word Mayday as it is the last SOS call and considered it as something different. So wehad to change the title.

Is there any scope for music?

Not much. There are only two songs in the background in the film.

What do you look for in a film before taking it on?

The story, script and screenplay of the film.

Whats next on the anvil for you?

I have Drishyam-2, Maidaan, Bhola, etc.

On that note he glides through to another set of journalists waiting for him.
