The movie Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi has been in news for a while now and people have been eagerly waiting to get a glimpse of what is in store for them. However, the makers of the movie wanted to wait till the Independence Day to unveil the first look of the movie.
Reason being  the movie is a magnum opus and will be a fitting tribute to the heroes of our freedom struggle. Speaking about this Kamal Jain, producer of Manikarnika Queen of Jhansi said, “It is the day that we remember all the sacrifices that the brave men and women made to get our country independent. If we are today enjoying the benefits of living and breathing in a free country, it is all because of freedom fighters. Many heroes have fought for our freedom and one such hero and In fact the symbol of heroism in India is our own Manikarnika, our Rani of Jhansi Laxmibai. She inspired many at that time to begin and ignite the Indian freedom fight. We believe with this magnum opus action drama we would be able to pay fitting tribute to this hero and inspire the current generation and generations to come We Embark on the journey for presenting this larger than life tale of determination, strength and valour on this Independence day”.
Kangana Ranaut who has undergone a complete transformation both physically and emotionally to essaying this epic role says “Queen of Jhansi gave her blood in the first war of independence. There is a lot of buzz around Kangana Ranaut starrer ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’. The first official poster of the movie will be coming out tomorrow that is Independence Day. The makers feel that as the Queen of Jhansi was the most important figure in the Indian rebellion of 1857 against British rule, Independence Day is the apt day for the release of the poster.
There are also plans to release the teaser of the movie on October 2, which is Gandhi Jayanti and to release the trailer of the movie on November 19, which happens to be the birth anniversary of Rani Lakshmibai.

‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’ will be a tale of bravery, valour and sacrifice. It is slated to release on Republic Day in 2019.

The trailer of the movie will be coming out on August 14, 2018 at 11 AM. The announcement was made via a video that was posted by Jackky Bhagnani on his Twitter and Instagram.

In a yet another quirky video, the team of Mitron is seen chilling out deciding on what time they should be releasing the trailer and suddenly they hear the voice of none other than Prime Minister Narendra Modi asking them to release the trailer on August 14 at 11:00 AM. The cast obliging in to the request and announce the trailer will be indeed coming at that time.

Rani Mukerji Wins the Best Actress Award for Hichki

Rani Mukerji won hearts everywhere with her outstanding performance in Yash Raj Films’ superhit film Hichki. As Naina Mathur, a passionate teacher who deals with Tourette Syndrome, Rani delivered a powerful performance, also communicating a key message about equal treatment for people with physical challenges in India. Her character inspires positive change in school students from economically backward origins, a story that resonated globally for Hichki to become a massive hit and now Indian Film Festival of Melbourne has awarded Rani with the Best Actress Award for the year.

Hugely popular with sizeable Indian diaspora living in Melbourne, Rani expressed her gratitude saying, “Indian Film Festival of Melbourne has always welcomed the best of Indian cinema and celebrated our form of storytelling. I feel very proud and thankful that Hichki has been accepted and loved by audiences here. It’s a story with universal resonance, and it’s spirit of positivity has won over Indians and locals here. Kartik Aaryan is in Gwalior shooting for Dinesh Vijan’s next Luka Chuppi. Gwalior being his hometown, he’s having a ball of time shooting for the project. Last week when he began shooting for the film, he was welcomed whole-heartedly by the people of Gwalior and it was almost like a celebration in the city. Kartik Aaryan who plays a local TV reporter, has a 50 days schedule in the city and he’s really happy to be a part of it. Manoj Bajpayee wins Best Actor Award at Melbourne for Gali Guleiyan

Two times National Award winning actor, Manoj Bajpayee's Hindi psychological drama, Gali Guleiyan (In the Shadows) continued its winning ways at the prestigious Indian Film Festival of Melbourne, last night.
The film won accolades in two out the four categories that it was nominated in (Best Actor: Manoj Bajpayee, Best Director: Dipesh Jain, Best Supporting Actor: Ranvir Shorey, Best Indie Film).

Manoj Bajpayee won the Best Actor award for his heart wrenching portrayal of a man trapped within the walls and alleys of Old Delhi and his own mind, who attempts to break free to find a human connection. The nominees in this category included- Akshay Kumar (Padman), Ranbir Kapoor (Sanju), Ranveer Singh & Shahid Kapoor (Padmavat), Varun Dhawan (October), among others.

*Gali Guleiyan also earned a Special Jury Mention in the Best Indie Film category.*

A visibly happy Manoj said...  "It is a fantastic feeling to win the award for the best actor at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne. It is even more satisfying when you know that so many other films across genres and so many actors who have all done such a great job, were in competition. Set to release in theatres worldwide on 7th September, Gali Guleiyan, is a Hindi psychological drama about a man trapped within the walls and alleys of Old Delhi and his own mind, who attempts to break free to find a human connection.
